Choosing the right accessories is a step that many fashionistas overlook because they’re more concerned with the main components of the outfit. However, sometimes it’s the small things that add up to really complete and create that custom look that you’re going for. Luckily, there’s no shortage of inspiration for you to draw from, as some of the industry’s top models recently showed the world what’s in right now during the Spring/Summer fashion weeks in New York, Milan, and London. With the end of the Spring/Summer fashion season upon us, now is the time to review all the hottest accessory styles that seem to making a come up. These are the 5 most stylish accessory trends that should last throughout Summer 2019:
1. Bold Framed Eyeglasses
Eyeglasses with bold frames have really been booming in popularity recently as the current trend for glasses seems to be moving towards a less subtle look. A few brands have benefited from this movement as some of their less popular frames are now starting to sell very well. For example, there’s been an unprecedented surge in the popularity of Nike eyeglasses over the past few months.
2. Snakeskin Boots
Exotic prints also appear to be in this season, adorning not only garments but also their accessories. A prime example of this is the resurgence of snakeskin boots. We saw these boots modelled by fashion icons on the streets of Pairs, New York, and Milan.
3. Bulky Soled Sneakers
Balenciaga has really started a tidal wave of interest in the bulky sole sneaker design, as this style seems to be unavoidable during the Spring/Summer 2019 season. Many fashion critics and bloggers are calling this look “futuristic” but it’s probably more accurate to describe them as bulky or chunky soled because that’s the one feature they all seem to have in common.
4. Sculptural Heels
Heels of all shapes and sizes are in right now, but those with sculptural forms seem to be the most popular. There appears to be an unprecedented wave of innovation happening in heel design, as well as a complete abandonment of the traditional approach to accompanying garments – models are wearing uniquely shaped heels with everything from business suits to skirts with no regard for their own comfort.
5. Purple Shoes
Last year, vibrant red shoes seemed to be the craze. Add a bit of blue to that hue and you have this year’s favored shoe color – purple. This season we saw a variety of hard-to-miss purple shades on boots, pumps, heels, sneakers, flats, and just about every other shoe type you could name. Not surprisingly, it seems the trend has nothing to do with matching, as purple shoes were combined with contrasting, neutral, bright, dark, and every other kind of color out there.
What if You Combined All of the Above into a Single Outfit?
Sometimes combining every current fashion trend into a single outfit can create a complete disaster, but as society seems to be gravitating absurdly futuristic looks, there’s really no limits on what you can and can’t do nowadays. With everything we’ve seen, it’s not that hard to imagine someone wearing bulky soled, purple snakeskin, heel sneakers while also sporting a pair of bulky eyeglasses.
