Hi Abbi, please tell us a little about you?
I was born and raised in Aurora, Indiana, a small town outside of Cincinnati. I grew up in a log cabin in the country with my Mom, Dad, and sisters. Music was always present in my life whether we were singing along to Patsy Cline songs with a karaoke machine or listening to Meatloaf during a long car ride into town. We moved into town, and after that, I stopped listening to country music and started listening to more Pop/soul music, which has influenced the type of music I sing today. As I grew up, I learned to play more instruments such as guitar, baritone, trumpet, and even experimented with the flute, but piano has always been my main instrument and my favorite. I don’t think I would have continued on with music if it wasn’t for my parents. They have supported me and my music career from the beginning and never doubted that I could be anything I wanted to be.
What is your musical background?
I started singing almost as soon as I could talk. My mom has videos of me singing “Jesus Take the Wheel” at four years old. Then, at five years old, I started taking piano lessons. I used the next couple years just learning about music. Then when I was eight years old, I began to explore songwriting. I went to recording studios with my school’s music teacher and talked and sang at a local radio station. At nine, I began acting, but after a year, I decided music was the path I wanted to take. I continued writing and singing until I co-wrote “Keys and Ivories” and “Partner in Crime” and that brings me to today.

Do you have any music influence?
Growing up, there was always music in the house: Patsy Cline, Carrie Underwood, Meatloaf, Queen, and Whitney Houston. My elementary music school teacher was also another musical influence in my life.
What is your next goal as a musician?
My next goal as an artist and musician is to record my first album. I can’t wait to get into the studio again, and I hopefully will be in the recording studio this summer! I have always dreamed about having my first album out and going on tour.
Tell us about your debut single “Keys & Ivories”?
“Keys and Ivories” was written in Nashville by myself and another artist (Chris Cron.) The song is about waking up and realizing that something you love is gone and you are trying to get it back. The song can be about a person or an object. For me, the song is about losing music, and how horrible that would be.
What we can expect from the album?
As of write now, there is no full album on iTunes, but I have been writing every day and am waiting to get back in the recording studio to create an album.
Define your sound in 3 words?
I think my sound could be described as soulful, vintage, and powerful.
Did you write any of the songs in this album?
My two singles “Keys and Ivories” and “Partner in Crime” we’re co-written by myself and Chris Cron, another artist.
What are the five things you can’t live without?
1. I cannot live without my piano “Thomas.” It’s just a simple upright piano, but my favorite instrument on this earth. I love coming home after a long day and playing my piano for hours on end.
2. I cannot live without my family. I have a very large and close family. On the weekends, I am always at my sister Samantha’s house or hanging out with my niece. My family gives me great inspiration for my songs.
3. I cannot live without my phone. Whenever I get inspiration for a song, I can just quickly press record and then I have a little song diary on my phone. I also check all my social medias, make videos, and watch other artists’ videos.
4. Netflix. I cannot live without Netflix. I love watching movies because of the stories behind them. My favorite shows on Netflix right now are the Walking Dead, Once Upon a Time, Switched at Birth, Lost, Pretty Little Liars, and Glee.
5. The last thing that I probably could not live without is my choir. I joined the Cincinnati Children’s Choir when I was eleven old and was immediately intrigued by the artistry and the bond that we share. With the choir, I have traveled to China and Italy. We have performed at the most beautiful places, and I don’t think I could live without my choir.
What music we can find in your iPod?
You can basically find many artists on my playlist including: Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Twenty One Pilots, Adele, Demi Lovato, and Meghan Trainor.
Any loves other then music?
I love camping, reading, and cooking. Out of those three, cooking is probably my favorite, and I cook for my parents almost every night.
Any exiting news you want to share with us?
My new lyric video just came out a few weeks ago on YouTube. Everything is now kind of falling into place. My new website is now up and running along with my social media accounts. Basically things are just getting started with my music career, and I couldn’t be happier!
Best advice ever given?
The best advice I’ve ever been given was that I could be anything I wanted to be, and I wanted to be a singer. This may sound generic, but throughout my life, people I’ve come across have always thought that following my dream of music was an unrealistic idea, but I see now that it is not.
What do you think of Social Media?
I think social media is an essential part of getting your name out there. With a click of a button, the whole world can hear my music and what I have to say. I think social media has improved the music industry tremendously in a positive way.
