Hi Laneya thanks for this interview. Please tell us a little about you?
I’m almost 12 years old (on June 23rd) I love science fiction especially Star Wars and Doctor Who and all the marvel movies, and I’m in the 6th grade.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Weird, Fun, Curious
Who is your role model?
Gigi Hadid. She is so beautiful.
How did you get started in modeling?
Well the story that I’ve heard from my parents is that when my younger sister was going to be born my parents wanted to do something that was going to give me attention since the baby was going to get so much attention. When I was 3 they submitted me to FORD agency in San Francisco and I signed with them right away, and then I did my first job for Macy’s. Since then FORD closed their kids divisions and at the time I had braces and there wasn’t much work for a 7 year old with braces but then I signed with JE and the braces came off.
How has modeling changed your life?
I used to be pretty shy and now I’m not. Also I’m pretty busy with school and travel, so this year I switched to homeschooling.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
I love meeting new friends, and seeing friends that I only see on set, not just other kids but photographers, makeup artists and so on.
The most important thing when you are shooting is?
Have fun but still listen to the photographer.
What’s your advice for the newer models?
Pretend the camera is your friend.

Who are some of your favorite models and designers?
Bella and Gigi, Thylane, all my friends that I get to model with. I love all designers its more of style that I like. I love comfort denim is great I like a lot of Ralph Lauren and Guess, but I love a lot of other brands as well.
Biggest beauty inspiration? Why?
Art like Monet. The colors he used and the natural settings, its so beautiful.
How would you explain your fashion style?
Comfortable. I love dressing up and I love skateboarding in shorts and t-shirt but either way I just love to be comfortable.
How is a normal day in your life?
If i’m not on set I go to school which is basically my couch. My dad and I do the school thing I play a lot with my little sister, we go outside on our skateboards and just play. On tuesdays and thursdays I’m in the gym for 2 hours each day, an hour of boxing and an hour of Muay Thai.
What is your idea of a perfect Sunday?
Church in the morning, going to the park or something like that, and having breakfast for dinner.
Best advice ever given?
Don’t do drugs. Not that I ever thought about it but it is something that my parents and I have discussed and I see how addiction can ruin lives.
Name 3 things you can’t live without?
My phone, my dog Lando, and my family.
Any plans for 2016 that you want to share with us?
I have a lot of hopes for the rest of the year. I know that there is a lot of talk out there for things but we will see. right now my plan is finish 6th grade and get ready to go to summer camp.
Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
In High school. I hope to start an acting career by then maybe on a show. Oh and driving.
Favorite song? Why?
Cecilia and the satellite because it is so romantic.
What do you think of Social Media?
I think its a lot of fun and very useful but can be very dangerous as well. You always have to be aware of what you are posting, why you are posting and where you are posting it.

Favorite Singer/Artist: My favorite band is Walk the Moon. I love all their music, however right now the one thing i’m listening to constantly is the soundtrack for the broadway musical “Hamilton”
Movie: Too many good movies. I loved The Force Awakens probably my favorite movie of 2015.
Travel Destination: I would love to go to London. that is my dream destination.
Food: Pizza because Pizza
Sports Team: Professionally the 49ers and the A’s but my dad I go to a lot of Cal football games and that is my favorite thing. its a bit of a walk up the hill to the stadium but we get to get hotdogs at Topdog in Berkeley and the everyone knows all the cal songs and sing them with the band .
Tv Show: The Walking Dead. I just started it this year and I’m about half way through season 5, so no spoilers. but yeah super suspenseful and great.
