Meet Francesca Kray, LA based noir-pop songstress. She is a self-diagnosed insomniac who stays up all night writing music, and according to her Instagram bio, lives somewhere “between fantasy and reality”.
Her debut single ‘Haunted’ draws you into her dark and glamorous world from the first play. The lyrics are seductive and tempestuous and her husky delivery adds sensuality to the lyrics, rolling effortlessly off her tongue and under your skin in an unadulterated seduction.
Produced by Dj Replay of Free School (Miley Cyrus, Madonna, Chris Brown), ‘Haunted’ leaves you begging for more. Co-written by Larry Nacht (Nicki Minaj, Jason Derulo).
Her visuals were photographed by famed photographer Sasha Samsonova, who recently shot Kylie Jenner and Teyanna Taylor.

Hi Francesca, please tell us a little about you?
I am a singer/songwriter from New York who moved to Los Angeles to pursue music.
How did you get started?
I’ve been writing since I can remember. I stepped into the studio for the first time at 16 and told myself this is what I want to be doing with my life!
Do you have any music influence?
I have so many musical influences. From Madonna, to Kate Bush, and more recently Lana Del Rey & Banks.
What is your musical background?
I started in musical theatre. I love to be on stage. Then I crossed over to learning piano and playing in bands. I performed all over the lower east side before moving to Los Angeles.
Do you ever get nervous?
Not really, I absolutely love it.
Tell us about your hit song “Haunted”?
It’s a dark passionate story about falling for someone you didn’t expect to.
Explain your sound in 3 words?
Dark, Ethereal, Sensual
Which artists would you like to collaborate with?
I’m not quite sure yet. I am working on building a body of work that stands on it’s own.
How was working with Dj Replay?
Replay has been a dear friend for years. I played him an early demo of Haunted and he told me he could do something great with it. Which he did!
And with photographer Sasha Samsonova?
I am always searching through Instagram looking for inspiration. It’s my favorite social media platform to discover new people. I came across Sasha’s page and immediately fell in love with her work. I reached out to her. We did a photoshoot, and now she is directing the music video for Haunted.
What has been your biggest achievement?
I think my biggest achievement thus far has been finding my sound. It takes a while for an artist to develop who they are and be able to define it sonically. Some artists never make it to that point. I’m grateful I have.
What are the five things you can’t live without?
Diamonds, Black lace, Trench coat, Stilettos, Red Lipstick
Best advice ever given?
Don’t give up on the things you can’t go a day without thinking about.
What beauty tips do you swear by?
Lip liner & Mascara. I don’t leave the house without them.
What do you like to watch on TV?
I don’t like to watch much TV, but I am fascinated with the Real Housewives franchise. I love that people are realizing how interesting every day women are. And how we are making stars out of them along the way.
What is you favorite song to belt out in the car/for karaoke?
I am a 90s baby, so anything Whitney or Mariah.
Top 3 designers?
In the perfect world I would wear Tom Ford, Chanel, and Saint Laurent every day. Maybe one day!
What do you do in your spare time?
I don’t have much spare time. But I am constantly looking for inspiration for my art.
Five years from now you will be…?
On a world tour!
How important is Social Media for you?
Social Media is how society discovers artists these days. It is the most important tool in the world.
