Jewelry designer Shauna Neely, whose designs are favored among A-listers, musicians, and professional athletes, announced launch of her first collection that will be available online starting today. Hi Shauna please tell us about you?
I’m just a gal from the Bay Area by way of Kansas City, Missouri who went for her passion of jewelry making whilst livng in the GREATEST city in the world, New York!
What’s your background?
My background is rooted in fashion and design. I started as a model and turned to jewelry-making shortly after that.
How did you start Shauna Neely Jewelry?
Started my business by making jewelry for friends and family, and it quickly grew from there.
What has been the most challenging part?
Working in a male-dominated field and being a minority has been the most challenging part.
How do you approach a new collection?
As a designer, I find it very important for the materials to lead you to your next collection. I allow the materials to “speak” to me; they literally guide me through the entire process. It’s like magic, and I am very grateful for the gift of jewelry design.
Tell us about the feeling to work with big names like Beyonce, LeBron James and Alicia Keys?
Working with high-profile clients is always exciting. Beyonce is the sweetest celebrity I’ve ever worked with. She is kind and beyond genuine. Alicia is just as amazing and always welcomes you with the biggest smile that warms your heart. I never feel like I am around celebs when in their presence.
Working with the James’ was amazing. They afforded me the opportunity to present a bevy of jewelry for their exclusive nuptials and I was made to feel extremely comfortable. I curated, designed and organized all of the jewelry for their entire wedding weekend. Mrs. Lebron James (aka “Savannah”) couldn’t be more humble. She is an amazing wife and mother and you can tell from first meeting her that the spoils of being married to Lebron James have not affected her in one bit.

World domination!!! In all seriousness, I plan to expand my brand with home decor and a concierge service.
Who is someone you admire?
How about a few? Oprah Winfrey, Kris Jenner, Beyonce, Jessica Alba and my beloved mother Pearl McCoy, who passed away in 2006.
Name 3 things you can’t live without?
My beautiful daughter Chloe Simone, God, my amazing family and friends (and my several iPhones.)
How do you spend your spare time?
Breaking bread at boozy brunches is up there… but my absolute favorite spare time is spent with my amazing daughter, Chloe.

Beauty essentials?
Ladies are constantly complimenting me on my skin, whether on Instagram or IRL, and are always asking what products I use. Maybelline Instant Rewind Foundation in Cocoa, L’Oreal Daily Moisturizer Cream, and L’Oreal Clear Lip Gloss are a few of my favorites. I believe natural makeup is always better than a face full of caked-on makeup, so I usually opt for a natural palette.
Guilty pleasure?
I absolutely LOVE bacon– anything with bacon! And reality television.
Favorite Song?
Too many to name… but, if pressed, I would have to say an old school song by Odyssey called “Native New Yorker.”
Why?
It just makes me feel good inside.

Favorite Music: Big band and swing, music soul R&B, jazz.
Food: I really LOVE food – to cook it, to eat it! If I weren’t a jewelry designer, I would definitely be a chef, hands down. I will try anything once, but my all time favorite cuisine is Italian and soul food.
Travel destination: Anguilla or anywhere in Europe. I love to travel, and there are so many places I’ve never been that I plan to venture. The Maldives, Thailand, Morocco and Greece are a few that are on my list!
Movie: Casino
Tv Series: Project Runway is my all time favorite! I am always amazed at the level of talent featured on the show. It’s like this planet keeps supplying an endless amount of talented folks!
