I’m a 21 year old singer/songwriter/producer/engineer from Murrieta, CA!
Describe yourself in 3 words.
Passionate, Motivated, Compassionate
What is your musical background?
I’ve been playing piano since I was 4 years old, guitar since I was 16 years old, and singing since before I can remember!
How would you describe your music?
I tend to blend R&B / Soul / Pop / Electronic into one genre. I honestly don’t know what genre I would consider myself.
How did you get started?
My dad has been a musician his entire life, so my upbringing was surrounded with music.
What is your next goal as a musician?
To go on tour! Hopefully very soon.
Tell us about your recent single “Sober”?
I wrote it a few months ago as a piano ballad based on a personal experience, and then a few months later, had my friend, Rome In Silver, produced it and made it what it is today!
Now tell us about your collab with Julia Lucius on the single “Bad?”
I wrote this song back in December, but never did anything with it because I needed a chorus. Thats when I hit up Julia and had her work her magic on it.
Which other artists would you like to collaborate in the future with?
Marc E. Bassy, Julia Michaels, Chris Brown… Honestly too many to list!
3 things you can’t leave your house without?
My phone, my puppy, and sunglasses!
Your favorite song? Why?
Right now my favorite song is probably ‘Versace On The Floor’ by Bruno Mars. He just perfectly blends old school soul with new age pop and it makes me feel euphoric when I listen to it.
Any loves, other then music?
Animals, pizza, cars, my family… and women of course.
Best advice ever given?
Don’t plan out your life, take it as it comes. Life never goes as planned so let it run its course and make the best out of it!
Five years from now you will be…?
On a sold out world tour!
Your idea of a perfect Sunday is?
Waking up late (like really late), eating pancakes and bacon, and making music!
How’s a normal day in your life?
My normal day is basically a perfect Sunday everyday.
What is your favorite healthy food?
Watermelon!
And your favorite cheat food?
Pizza! Or In-N-Out.
Do you support any charities?
PETA! I love animals so thats a big one for me.
What do you like to watch on tv?
Friends, How I Met Your Mother, and Riverdale are my favorite shows!
Any news you want to share with us?
I have a new EP dropping soon. It’s still in the works but its gonna be a big one!
What do you think of Social Media?
I love social media! I think it has good and bad perks, but overall its very helpful in growing a brand/business and has done amazing things for my career. Make sure to follow me at @itsdylanmatthew
