I was born and raised in College Station, TX. I attended a Catholic School growing up while also dancing and cheering as soon as I could walk. I have an amazing family. I moved to LA when I was 16 to pursue my career out here and while it’s been hard to be away from the people I love most, it has been rewarding in other ways. I am an old soul and go to bed around 10 every night. I love playing poker, ping pong, or anything requiring me to be competitive. I am very open and say it like it is. I am a spelling nerd. I graduated in the top 10% of my high school class. I am a horrible skateboarder and my nostrils flare when I laugh really hard. –
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Ambitious. Adventurous. Passionate.
Who is your biggest supporter?
I would have to say my mom or my boyfriend. My mom has been my #1 fan since I was born and helped me get to the place I am now, but my boyfriend has had to watch me kiss other people and be okay with it…so they are both extremely supportive and cheer me on. 🙂
How did you get started in the industry?
When I was 12 years old, I was watching an episode of Hannah Montana and I had this epiphany that entertainment was the right path for me. I sat my parents down and told them that I wanted to pursue this career and they supported my decision. From there, I moved to LA at 16, finished school online and started lying about my age so I could play older roles without my mom on set.
What was your first acting role?
I was in a couple of small commercials for IKEA and Academy when I was younger, but my first acting role was for Johnson & Johnson. I was hired to play a mom of a newborn even though I was newly 18. It was definitely interesting playing a mother when I hadn’t graduated high school yet, but I loved every minute of it.
What is the best and worst part of being an actor?
I think the best part of being an actor is the fact that once you are done shooting, your work lives on forever and touches people. You have an impact on so many and the purpose that personally gives me is extremely fulfilling. If I had to come up with something I don’t like about being an actress, it would be getting turned down so much. For every job you have booked, there’s a handful that you didn’t that you thought you should have. It starts to get to some people, but it’s made me really strong and now I don’t even think about auditions once I leave.
Best advice ever given?
Every ‘no’ you get is one step closer to a ‘YES!” I am not sure if I read this somewhere or if I just said it one day, but it sure has gotten me through all the let downs.
How did you find out about the new Eminem ft. Ed Sheeran music video for “River?”
I went to an audition that my agency sent me on, and I didn’t know who it was for. I went in, did what they asked, and left. Then I got a call. Needless to say, I was freaking out when I found out who it was for. :)[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfWIs2gFTAM” title=”Eminem – River ft. Ed Sheeran”][vc_column_text]How was working with them in the music video?
It was the coolest experience of my life so far. Everyone was incredibly professional and genuine. I would do it all over again if I could.
What has been your most memorable experience from the set?
There is a scene where I am pushing and screaming at Em in the video. There is stuff flying around us, strobe lights, and broken glass everywhere in this room that is destroyed. When we shot that, the adrenaline I had going through my body was off the charts. I had this feeling come over me that everything I had done in my life had led me to this moment. I was acting opposite of the best rapper in the world and showcasing the serious actress that not many people had seen. I was very happy in that moment.
What other projects you have been part of?
I started out doing lots of commercials which was fun, but then I started doing television more. So I have been on Lethal Weapon & Stitchers and am hosting a new television show coming out soon.
Who is your favorite Actor/Actress? And why?
Tom Hanks. He is so incredible…I watched Captain Phillips, and there is a scene at the end where he starts crying. I started crying with him because it was so real.
3 things you can’t leave your house without?
Well I have to leave my house without my dog sometimes, but I would rather not. So… 1) my dog 2) a bottle of water (I am always hydrated) 3) and a snack of course.
What music do you like?
I love country music since I grew up in Texas. I also listen to a lot of 80s music though and love songs.
Your idea of a perfect Sunday is?
I wake up and go to breakfast with my family. Then we go to Church. Then we would go to the beach with all of our dogs and hang out for a while. Then we would go get Mexican food. Then we would go see a movie together. Then we would go eat a big meal at an Italian restaurant served family style. Then we would go home and be asleep by 10pm. 🙂
How’s a normal day in your life?
I wake up around 7am. I drink coffee, make a spinach and fruit smoothie, and make myself oatmeal. I take my dog on a walk and clear my head. Then I jump on my computer and respond to emails and messages I get. I go over lines for the auditions that I have that day. I get dressed, sit in traffic, go to my auditions, and then I come home. I eat a late lunch/early dinner. I take my dog for a mile walk. Then I go workout at my gym for an hour. When I’m done, I bake a sweet potato and eat it for dessert. Then I finish responding to more emails and schedule the following day whether it be for a shoot or just more auditions. Then I shower, cuddle with my dog, and go to sleep.
What is your favorite healthy food?
I am not a fan of vegetables, but I eat them in all of my meals because I hide the taste really well. So my favorite is this stir fry I make with brown rice, black beans, zucchini, squash, onion, garlic, spinach, & salsa. It is delicious and so filling. It doesn’t taste like vegetables which is my favorite part.
And your favorite cheat food?
QUESO. I grew up eating Tex-Mex so Queso is just a bowl of cheese, but it is also heaven.
How do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself married, working as a Series Regular on a TV show.
Do you support any charities?
I support a few charities underneath the Pro-Life movement. I have been a part of that for a couple of years now.
