I, Kaila Methven (CEO, Model, Designer, Entrepreneur, and Public Figure) was born on September 3, 1991 in Los Angeles, CA. I am a luxury lingerie designer who studied in Paris where I obtained my bachelor’s and master’s in Fashion Design. I won best international design awards in Pret a Porter for lingerie twice, in which Madame Methven has many collections from high end haute couture to affordable and desirable. I represent women’s empowerment, sensuality, and the exclusive experience of one’s sexual desires through my lingerie brand. I want every woman to feel magical, and to keep an open heart and mind to continue to love or love again.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Sexiest CEO Alive
What is your own definition of happiness?
Making my clients happy, pushing and thriving as hard as I can be and making my mother proud!
Why did you decide to become a lingerie designer?
I wanted to be an entertainment lawyer. But when my mother passed away, I moved to France and I was immediately inspired by the fashion and the arts, so I entered in design school.
What does fashion mean to you?
Fashion is art; art is something created within myself for woman all over.
What is it like working for yourself now and who is your dream client?
It feels awesome, my dream client is every woman alive, everyone is as beautiful as the next.
Who is your biggest beauty inspiration?
There’s so many I can’t pick just one, maybe Halle Berry and Monika Bellucci.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”24645″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Who was your role model as a child?
I don’t really have a role model as I lost mother at a young age and had living with my father from the age of 17 wasn’t a very great experience although I love him a lot. I made a promise to my mother that I will always try my hardest to put my foot forward in the world therefore my role model will be keeping that promise to my mother
Tell us about your successful brands
Latrodectus is an haute couture line, made from the finest beaded fabrics, laces, and other materials designed by me with my suppliers in the South of France. I also work with feathers, bouquets, and accessories that I design as well and dye in accordance to the design I create. Since those designs are haute couture, when clients order, we have our seamstresses create those pieces for the customer, get the fabric, the feathers, and put the art together. Mademoiselle is a semi couture line, more accessible to the public, but still using high end fabrics to create the products.
However, the turnaround is way faster than it would be with Latrodectus, as the fabric is not a product that has to be ordered; with pieces being made to order. LBKM is the more affordable line with pieces ranging from $20.00 – $60.00 per item which will always contain the same quality in design and fabrics used. Madame Methven’s Made to Adore is an exclusive VIP and private membership. Private clients are invited to lingerie fittings with trained specialists in our showroom or location that works best for the client. The benefits of being a Mademoiselle member are invites to special events, fashion shows, and much more.
Name some of the celebrities that wear your Madame Methven and LBKM lines?
Demi Lovato, Kardashians, Katharine McPhee, Housewives of Beverly Hills, and Abigail Ratchford.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”24640″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Who are some of your favorite models and designers, and why?
I don’t really have a favorite model, I have muses. I’m in love with any body type! What I love the most is the personality of the model and what she can express. At the moment, I’m very inspired by this young woman and single mother, she’s my good friend, her name is Cherie Noel. As for designers I’m really inspired by old time designers such as Dior, Emilio Pucci and Christian Louboutin. These designers design with such elegance and grace back in the day they would hand design everything for their clients which requires a lot of patience and time and I really respect that.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”24643″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]How would you explain your fashion style and what items in your closet can you not be without?
My entire closet is black and I cannot be without my pajamas
Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
Hopefully I will have a store open and be an even better person, better CEO with a very accomplished company, and have international stores
Best advice ever given?
Don’t let anyone ever tell you cannot be something you’re not!
