I’m a Pop singer/songwriter, dancer, actress, and model. I’ve been singing since I was only 3 years old! Music is my life!
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Fierce, determined, focused. I also have a funny side, haha.
Who has made the biggest impact on your life so far, and why?
My family. They’ve allowed me to be my creative self and do what I love which means everything.
What is your musical background? Do you have a musical family?
No, I don’t come from a musical family. My love for music began at a very young age. I loved to listen to and learn new songs. As I matured, my love for pop music grew and I was never happy without a set of headphones. My interests in other genres grew as well. I’ve always known music is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life and I’ve worked super hard along the way and always will!
Do you ever get nervous?
No, I get more amped up and excited! On occasion depending on what I’m doing I might get some jitters, but for the most part I feel confident and don’t get nervous.
For our readers who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 3 words?
Sassy, fierce, and authentic!
How did you get started in the industry?
At a very young age I was discovered and was chosen to appear in a Broadway show and then do the National Tour playing a leading role. I also later appeared on CBS Star Search and was chosen as an Incubator “Up and Coming” artist on Radio Disney.[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NF-nlKAXs00&feature=youtu.be” title=”Ashlee Keating “Hurt Me So Good“”][vc_column_text]Now tell us about your new single “Hurt Me So Good”?
My song “Hurt Me So Good” brings out a fierce sassy side to me that hasn’t really been seen yet. It’s an upbeat pop/dance song with a little bit of a rock vibe mixed with urban melodic lyrics in the verses. I wanted to do something unique and different showing who I really am, my most authentic self. I was inspired to write this song by realistic situations in my life that can be very relatable to lots of people going through toxic relationships. The message behind it is talking about being with a guy that hurts me so good, but I love the pain so I keep on going back when I know I shouldn’t.
You have also worked on popular shows like “iCarly” and “Victorious”. Tell us about it?
It was a lot of fun working on set! I met a lot of great people! I didn’t have a major role, but it was an amazing experience.
Do you have or had acting classes?
Yes, I’ve taken many acting classes and workshops.
What we can expect of Ashlee Keating in 2018?
A lot! I’ll be releasing more music. My “Hurt Me So Good” Music video is about to drop! Check my instagram for some bts and teasers! @AshleeKeating I also plan on touring/performing, traveling, and making appearances. Continuing to write new music and be in the recording studio is also on the list!
What is the biggest highlight of your career so far?
A holiday song called “Ice Kingdom” I co-wrote was selected to be a part of Coca Cola’s 52 Songs of Happiness Campaign. I was selected 1 of 52 emerging artists from around the world for this. It was an incredible experience and the song led to many other opportunities including my song being played in rotation on Radio Disney. My song was not only heard domestically, but also internationally. That was a big step forward for me.
