Created by Terri Kopp (Law & Order, In Justice and Rebel), In Contempt is set in the fast-paced world of a legal aid office in New York City and follows Gwen Sullivan (Erica Ash), an opinionated attorney whose passion for her job and clients make her arguably the most talented public defender in her district. Gwen contends with complicated cases and office distractions that include Charlie (Chritsian Keyes), the undeserving but still newly appointed supervisor who also happens to be her ex; and Earl (Richard Lawson), her stern and hard-to-please former father, a former judge.
Megan plays the role of Tracy Campbell, Gwen’s best friend and roommate. She is a sassy lawyer from the South who isn’t afraid to bend or break the rules to get what she wants. Tracy is daring and seductive with deep and dark secrets that lead the viewers to realize she isn’t who she claims to be. In Contempt also stars Ronnie Rowe Jr., Hamza Haq and André Dae Kim.
Megan also stars in the new CBC original comedy series Crawford about a dysfunctional family with three children whose home gets invaded by racoons. Crawford is currently streaming online and will make its broadcast premiere this Summer 2018.

Hi! I’m a Canadian girl and an actress currently starring in BET’s new legal drama series In Contempt. I love animals, my family, my friends, yoga and being active. I spend a lot of my time volunteering or building dream catchers for my non profit ‘Dreams of Rescue.’

Who is your biggest supporter?
My dad!
How did you get started in the industry?
I’ve always been interested in performing and the entrainment industry. I ended up in drama in class in high school and it sort of just went from there. I’m lucky enough to have a father who helped find me an agent, drive me to auditions, support and encourage my dreams.
What was your first acting role?
My first role was a non-union job called “Cold Blood” where I played a murder victim from a true crime story. It was a good learning experience
What is the best and worst part of being an actress?
The best part is having a creative outlet and all the amazing people I get to meet and work with. The worst part is the constant rejection. It can get to me at times and make me question if I’m on the right path.
Best advice ever given?
To walk into the room not caring what they think of you.
Tell us about the new BET legal drama series In Contempt?
It’s a really great and unique show. We deal with really complicated subject matter and cases but we also have a lot of fun. The show is entertaining but has a message we all need to hear.
What your character is about?
Tracy is a fun, sassy, sexy girl from the South. She’s a dedicated lawyer and she crosses all sorts of lines and boundaries.
What has been your most memorable experience from the set so far?
We’ve made a lot of great memories. Everyone has been so kind and generous to each other. We have a lot of laughs and spend a lot of time dancing and just having a good time.
What other projects you have been part of?
I’ve been lucky enough to be part of some really great projects. I recently did a really fun show that will be airing on CBC (Canada) on June 14th called ‘Crawford.’ It’s a really fun, quirky comedy with an amazing team behind it. Before that, I was on the CW show Reign which was a great experience.
Who is your favorite Actor/Actress? And why?
I have so many! I love Amy Adams, Michelle Williams, Ruth Wilson and obviously Meryl. They’re all strong, talented women who I look up to.
3 things you can’t leave your house without?
Phone, poop bags, dog leashes.
What music do you like?
I literally like everything. Lately I’m listening to a lot of country because the sun is finally out in Toronto and it makes me happy.
Your idea of a perfect Sunday is?
Sleeping in, coffee, a good workout, long walks with the dogs and a BBQ with family and friends.
How’s a normal day in your life?
There’s no such thing as normal 😉
What is your favorite healthy food?
Probably a power bowl or salad of some sort.
And your favorite cheat food?
PIZZA.
How do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully working consistently, owning a successful dog rescue and starting a healthy, happy family of my own.
Do you support any charities?
Yes. I volunteer at Save Our Scruff, a Toronto dog rescue that saves and re-homes dogs. I also volunteer at a farm close to my home called the Garden Farmhouse Animal Home, feeding the cows and horses, mucking the stalls and just loving the animals. I’m a monthly donator to the SOI dog foundation and I have my own little non-profit ‘Dreams of Rescue’ in which proceeds are donated to a rescue.
