Hi! I’m originally from Santa Barbara, Ca and I currently live in Los Angeles with my husband. I’m a full time singer songwriter, an entrepreneur and activist!
What is your musical background?
I grew up singing in church so that was always my foundation. Then I later got involved in a lot of musical theatre as well. In college I went to school for Vocal Performance with an emphasis in Classical Voice and Opera. After college I hit the ground running with performing live and releasing records so it’s been quite the journey!
How would you describe your music?
My music is very pop/soul singer songwriter. My biggest influences are Gavin DeGraw and Whitney Houston so I would say my music is a fusion of the best parts of them!
How did you get started?
After college I starting putting together my own live band gigs and figuring it how this industry operated. It’s all been a learning experience but I’m proud of how much I’ve grown over the last few years.
What is your next goal as a musician?
Definitely to open for an artist that I admire and am a fan of. Opening for Gavin DeGraw or Sara Bareilles would be the dream. I would also love to sing the national anthem at a Lakers game!
Tell us about your recent single “Something Worth Fighting For”?
This song was meant to be an encouraging, uplifting anthem for people to get up and fight for something. We are in a time in our world where there are so many movements and people taking action and I want to use my music as a way to galvanize people into being a part of those movements.
And now about your EP “The One?”
I couldn’t be more proud of this EP. The team that I got together to make it happen are hands down some of the most talented people I know. The entire EP is meant to make you think, feel inspired and feel good. I hope that comes across!
Which artists would you like to collaborate with?
Anyone who knows me, knows Gavin DeGraw is my person. But I’d also love to sing with India Arie, Sara Bareilles or Andy Grammer. I love my singer songwriters!
3 things you can’t leave your house without?
Cell phone, water and keys!
What music do you like?
I enjoy a variety of music there really isn’t much I don’t like. But I’ve currently been reliving my favorite 90’s and 2000’s songs in the pop and r&b world.
Your favorite song? Why?
To this day my favorite song is “Now and Forever” by Richard Marx. I think he is such a strong songwriter but that song specifically is just so beautiful. Lyrically and musically.
Any loves, other than music?
I love to cook! I also love the outdoors. Hiking and talking walks or bike riding. Anything outdoors is very soothing to me. I also enjoy acting and I own my company so I’m very business oriented.
What do you do in your free time?
I don’t know what free time is. Haha! Just kidding. I honestly love to workout, or just watch new shows and movies on Netflix with my husband. Downtime is very important for my mental health.
What do you like to watch on TV?
Anything that’s a part of Shondaland! I’ll watch Grey’s Anatomy till I’m 50 years old. It has me until it’s over.
Best advice ever given?
Never be afraid to ask for help. The worst thing someone can say is no. That stuck with me and it’s very important to remember.
Five years from now you will be…?
A Grammy winner and a mom. Two big goals for me.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
Going to church and then just being with my husband and dog. Sunday’s are very simple and relaxing for me.
Any news you want to share with us?
I have some cool projects coming up but not making any big announcements yet! So stay tuned!
