Rayan is a businesswoman, currently holding the Chief Executive Officer position at Atelier Zuhra. She describes herself as highly dedicated, motivated, and creative when it comes to her chosen craft — the fashion industry. Her high analytical and creative designing capabilities enable her to produce exceptional, elegant dresses for the clientele of the fashion house.
Her sheer passion for taking the brand to greater heights is highly evident through her distinguished leadership and her broader experience in business management. Under her direction, Atelier Zuhra has participated in six fashion exhibitions in and out of Dubai, UAE.
Rayan attended various prestigious educational institutions in Dubai and globally. She got her Diploma in Business Administration from the Queensland University of Technology in Australia; and obtained her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wollongong in Dubai, where she majored in Commerce. She, later on, furthered her education; Rayan holds a Master’s in International Business Management from the Heriot-Watt University in Dubai. She also obtained a CIMA Certification from the Certified Institute of Management Accountants, that is headquartered in London, UK.
Rayan is the daughter of Mousa Al Awfi, the founder of Atelier Zuhra, she have three sisters and one brother. She is based in Dubai, UAE.

What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
Atelier Zuhra greatest strengths include; the ability to design unique dresses, high quality dresses, ability to design dresses for celebrities, international outlook, creativity and strong management in managing Atelier Zuhra Fashion Business.
On the other hand Atelier Zuhra weaknesses include; lack of physical presence in other regions apart from Middle East in Dubai and we are still at small scale and we desire to expand more.
Why and how did you decide to become a fashion designer?
My motivating factors that made me enter fashion discipline starts from my mother Mousa Al Awfi who had aspiration to design glamorous and fabulous dresses for dressing fashionable women. I liked her ambition, then I was nurtured in that field. Coupled with my love in fashion and dresses, I had a strong passion to progress the business. Eventually after my Master degree in International Business Management I had to resign where I was working and engaged fully in the business in both designing and managerial functions of Atelier Zuhra. Nevertheless, fashion industry is definitely competitive and yet tough, thus it requires creativity, but interestingly, it is a very exciting field.
What does fashion mean to you?
To me fashion means a stylish dressing with latest unique designs.
How do you describe your fashion style?
My fashion style in chic, matchless with high quality fabrication as a result of creative and quality materials used in making the dresses. Inimitable fashion style is found at Atelier Zuhra.

Tell us about your Atelier Zuhra brand?
Atelier Zuhra brand is a fashion business which was launched in 2015 by the founder Mousa Al Awfi, a woman entrepreneur who had an aspiration to establish a unique couture Atelier in Dubai aimed at dressing women with glamour and perfection style. Atelier-Zuhra was later passed to the founder’s daughter Rayan Al Sulaimani who is currently the Chief Executive Officer. It has been designing high quality magnificent feminine dresses that make Atelier Zuhra’s dresses timeless. If you are aspiring to look more chic with elegant style that goes with the current world of fashion, Atelier-Zuhra is your choice. Atelier Zuhra designs exceptional premium quality dresses aimed at grooming its fashionable customers to look gorgeous. How did you select the materials you used?
I chose the materials based on quality and uniqueness in order to differentiate my dresses from those of competitors. Atelier Zuhra’s sourcing strategy is centered on high quality fabric.
What is difference from your brand to other brands?
What makes the difference in my brand from other brands include the high level of differentiation as a result of creative inimitable design and premium quality.
How do you stay up-to-date regarding the fashion?
I stay up-to-date through browsing in the internet by surfing the social media and fashion blogs, window shopping in fashion stores, attending various fashion exhibitions, what people wear on the streets and various global collections. All these give us insights in the trend in the industry.
Describe your creative process?
Our creative process starts with an idea then drawing the dress, then making selection of the fabric and lastly making the dress for sample to test the market before producing more dresses.
Tell us about a project or collection which has been your greatest achievement?
Fashion forward was a successful event for Atelier Zuhra especially that it was our first time to launch our designs which attracted a lot of interest worldwide from MiddleEast, Europe, India and Vancouver.

Keep focused, Be positive, Never compare yourself, Believe in yourself, Be Grateful for what you have, most importantly trust God and have faith.
Any future plans you want to share with us?
My future plans are to expand Atelier Zuhra Business to a large Scale, to open our brand stores in various Middle East Countries and later Europe, America and Africa. Atelier Zuhra also plans to start online selling.
What advice you have other aspiring fashion designer?
I would advise them keep up with their dream. But I would also advise them to be creative and get prepared to compete since fashion business is a very competitive industry which requires a designer to be uniquely distinguished from competitors.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
