Hannah has been acting since she was 6 years old. At this time in her life it was just for her immediate family and close friends because she was battling a high risk form of Leukemia. She was diagnosed when she was 4, but besides a few months here and there with rough rounds of chemo she was singing, dancing, and acting to anything she watched on tv. She beat this battle after 2 1/2 years of chemo and radiation. Hannah received a Make a Wish. When she was healthy, we took off to Los Angeles for her wish in 2010. It was to meet Miranda Cosgrove and hang out on the set of iCarly. It will go down as one the most pivotal moments in her life. Literally on the set she told us “this is what I want to do. I want to be an actress” Finally in 2011 we started making seasonal trips to Los Angeles. She booked her first role on the hit tv show Castle in 2012, and was on her way to making her mark in Hollywood! She co-starred on Criminal Minds and several other tv shows plus worked feature films, web series, and voice over. Her first guest star was on Another Period.
Voice over is her sweet spot. She has been blessed to work for Universal Kids (previously known as Sprout) and Disney jr. She has worked on over 100 episodes of the animated show Ruff Ruff Tweet and Dave where she plays Tweet.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”26966″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Hi Hannah, please tell us a little about you?
I was born in Sarasota, Florida. I love to sing, play guitar and ukulele, and I am obsessed with going to concerts!
Describe yourself in 3 words?
If I had to describe myself in three words they would most likely be brave, funny, and bubbly.
Name one your strengths?
One of my strengths would probably be surviving cancer. I had Leukemia when I was 4 1/2, I was high risk and it spread to my brain. My treatment lasted 2 and a half long years and this year marks my 10 years cancer free.
What inspires you?
My mom inspires me. She is one of the most hard working, dedicated, and generous people you could ever meet. She is the best mom I could ever ask for and she’s molded me to the person I am today. I couldn’t ask for anything more than that.
Why and how did you get started in acting?
The way I decided to start acting was from my Make-A-Wish. For my Make-A- Wish I picked to go to Los Angeles, California to meet Miranda Cosgrove from ICarly; ICarly was my favorite show at the time. When I flew to California and went onto the set of ICarly, it instantly felt like home. Thats how I decided I wanted to do acting. I told my parents that I wanted to do acting like she does. A few years later they actually let me go back to California and try it out and here I am now!
What roles do you like to play? And why?
I don’t necessarily have a preference or a favorite type of role. I’ve experienced pretty much all types and have enjoyed them all the same amount.
Tell us about your work on animated show “Ruff Ruff Tweet and Dave?”
My work on Ruff Ruff Tweet and Dave is always so much fun to record!! Pretty much every other episode usually had some singing so I loved when Tweet got to sing! Austin Chase who plays Dave and I have become really close friends from working on the show together. The director is so amazing and engineers are always so sweet no matter how early in the morning it is!
And your role as Tweet?
Working as such a cute little bird was probably my favorite thing I’ve ever worked on in voice over. She has become a part of me and will be a part of me forever.
What’s your advice for the newer actors?
My advice to give to newer actors is, never give up!! There is a role out there specifically for you and I know you will get it. Always work 110% on every role, it will show and that little extra 10% makes you stand out in a pool of people who don’t necessarily give there all.
What other projects you have been part of?
I have been a part of many other projects like tv shows CBS’s Criminal Minds, ABC’s Castle, and Comedy Central’s Another Period. For voice over I’ve been on shows like Disney Junior’s Palace Pets, Universal Kid’s Ruff Ruff Tweet and Dave, Nickelodeon’s Wonder Pets, and I’ve done dubbing on Netflix’s Money Heist and the miracle which is coming soon to Netflix. I also am a part of a new trilogy movie project but I can’t say anything else.
You do also Voice over, tell us about it?
Voice over is nothing like acting, you usually don’t have to have the script memorized because you are simply reading it in front of a microphone. You also don’t have to be camera ready at all times because it’s just your voice. That being said that makes it seem like its easier than acting, thats not true at all. In voice over, specifically dubbing, you have to watch and match exactly what your seeing on a screen at the same time as your reading the lines.
How does a normal day in your life look like?
A normal day in my life looks like lots of singing throughout the day, playing with my puppy Ollie, lots of school, and after all of that I usually hang out with some friends.
What has been the hardest part of your career?
The hardest part of my career has probably been times when your so close to booking a role you can taste it. I’ve gotten attached to some roles because even the casting director says “It’s your role” or even has called me by the role name instead of my own name. And then they hire someone else. Those are really difficult things to overcome, but thats how the industry works.
Best advice ever given?
The best advice ever given to me was when a casting director told me “No matter how bad your yes:no ratio for roles are right now, that’s not going to be the same forever. Your ratio will change and the yes side will be higher than the no’s, just don’t give up.”
What’s your favorite show on T.V. right now?
My favorite tv shows right now are either The Office, The Umbrella Academy, or Parenthood.
What do you do when you have some free time?
I love to go to Universal Studios and Six Flags, I also love seeing horror movies with my friends on my free time. I am also a total gamer, I play on my Xbox all the time.
What is on your bucket list?
Things on my bucket list to do are to go skydiving, learn piano, and to write and release a few songs. Places to travel on my bucket list are Santorini, Greece and Paris, France.
How would your best friend describe you?
My best friend, Paris Hudson, would describe me as funny, competitive, quiet, cute, sarcastic, and in love with french fries.
What quote do you live by?
“Make happiness a habit”.
Your idea of a perfect Sunday?
My actual Sunday is waking up and going to church with my family, after church going and having brunch with grandparents, and then I would usually hang out with my friends for the rest of the day. That is pretty much my actual every Sunday in Florida I couldn’t ask for it any better, so that would be my perfect Sunday!
What’s next for Hannah Swain in 2019?
A couple next things for me in 2019 are a new trilogy movie sequence project that I cannot say anything about, and continuing to learn how to play guitar and learn new songs on it.
Something people don’t know about you?
Something people don’t know about me is I love boxing! My dad and I go boxing at Jaco’s Boxing pretty much every day together and we love every second of it!
What is your own definition of happiness?
My own definition of happiness is always living life to the fullest, and appreciating every moment of it. Loving every opportunity that comes upon me, and having a smile on my face all the time!
How would you describe your fashion style?
People would describe my fashion style most likely as cute but casual. Most of my tops are from Brandy Melville and Forever 21, and for bottoms I wear Lululemon leggings and ripped jeans.

And your favorite cheat food?
My favorite cheat food by far are french fries!
