Hi, My name is Georgia T willow, and I am an 18 yr old Actress who has been professionally acting in Los Angeles for over a decade!
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Faith, Trust, and Pixie-dust. Not only am I a huge Disney fan, but I like to believe that all of these words can apply to who I am as a person. I have faith in myself, and when I work, others can put their faith in me. I trust myself always, and I remain very trustworthy to those around me. Lastly, I tend to incorporate “Pixie-Dust” into not only my life and work but spread magic and happiness to others.
Name one your strengths?
I feel that one of my greatest strengths is that I am reliable. I take pride in following through with my commitments, being on time, and dependable in achievement. For me, being reliable to others as well as to myself gives me a strong foundation in life.
How’s a typical day in your life?
I’m going off what a busy day for me would look like, so here it goes: A busy day consists of coaching, auditions, school, memorizing lines, and of course the essentials like eating, brushing my teeth, makeup, and playing with my dog. I wake up and get ready for the audition(s) grab my lines prepare a headshot and head to my acting coach, Lori Lively’s, office. We coach for an hour on average and then more driving… I get to the audition, wait as long as they have me there, finish, and move onto the next one. I try to forget about auditions and move along until one moves to a callback, but if I hold onto each audition, it just becomes more of a let down when I don’t book. I’m homeschooled, so my schoolwork is usually pushed towards the end of the day, but I am graduating high school this year and getting ready for college, which will be a whole other schedule. So, there are no defining factors for a typical day as my career and school always throw me through loops!
Who is your biggest supporter?
My mama. My mama has consistently supported my career choice and figured out how to get me an agent and all of the essentials needed to grow in this career. Not to mention the hours she has devoted over the past 11 years to drive me to and from auditions, meetings, sets, etc. Now that I’m 18 I realize the best thing she ever did, however, was teach me all of these things along the way. She’s made sure I am independent and strong, two things that you need to have when working in this field. Even though I plan on living with my mama through most of college, she made sure I was ready to take on this career by myself, while still being able to ask for help and having her support.
How did you get started in the industry?
I went to preschool on the Paramount Pictures Studio Lot, so I grew up around the particular energy, passion, and creativity that is put into acting and film making. At a very young age, I knew I wanted to be a part of that spirit that called me through acting.
What was your first acting role?
My very first acting role as a professional actress was a national Chase bank commercial.
Do you have or had acting classes?
I have participated in numerous amounts of acting classes for the past 11 years! I am not currently enrolled in any acting classes, but I tend to keep learning through my acting coach, Lori Lively. She has not only made me grow as an actress but continues to make me better at getting redirected and a better listener.
What is the best and worst part of being an actress?
Hands down the best part about being an actress is the passion that I have for what I’m doing. I genuinely enjoy being on set and helping someone’s vision come to life. The worst part is also the passion I have for my work since this job comes with a ton of rejection, which thankfully I’ve learned to deal with. It also means I don’t get to be on set doing what I love all of the time, and because I love what I do so much, it gets tough when I can’t quickly get to the next step in pursuing my dream.
How do balance your personal life with your acting life?
My personal life tends to leak into my acting life, as I’ve met so many of my wonderful friends through acting and events so getting to see my friends isn’t challenging and balancing school and college is just scheduling and making sure I’m not overloaded with things.
Best advice ever given?
Never give up on your dream, I know its cheesy but if you genuinely love to do something, as long as it’s not harming anyone else, go for it! Yes, there will be bumps in your road, and you may have to obtain different jobs throughout that very long journey. But in the end, as long as you’re not stuck at a job that you hate and you’re going after what you’ve always wanted to do, you’ll be fulfilled and isn’t that what we all strive for?
How do you prepare for a role?
I get the description of the character, and I try my best to pay attention to context clues into how I should dress then I spend time memorizing, luckily I tend to memorize lines very quickly! But most of my preparation happens with my acting coach she discusses everything with me, researching, detailed character breakdown, etc. I go in with my own choices, and Lori Lively gives it that extra something it needs, and I always come out feeling incredibly confident.
Now tell us about your work on ABC’s drama For the People?
For the people is the most recent television series I have appeared in. I got to play Petra Stevens, one of the very many victims of a judge who was wrongly sentencing kids to jail. I had a fantastic time working with the cast and crew and got to spend a couple of days at Paramount Pictures lot which was special for me.
And on Comedy Centrals “Another Period” and MTV’s Faking It?
On “Another Period” I got to work with comedians Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome, who were both incredible and amazing to work with! The series is set in the early 20th century, so hair, makeup, and wardrobe were all extraordinary, and the whole episode I got to compete with Natasha’s character for a husband, so obviously lots of laughs there. While filming “Faking It” I got to work with Greg Sulkin who I had seen on tv since the Wizards of Waverly Place days! He was so sweet, and I played a very “over it” teen named Becca.
What other projects you have been part of?
Since I have been acting for 11 years, I’ve explored all types of projects! I’ve been in student films, music videos, short films, feature films, sitcoms, dramas, national commercials, etc.
What kind of roles do you like or would like to play and why?
I’m happy to be on any set, but with that said I can cry on command and drama has always held a special place in my heart. My favorite roles are the ones that represent characters who are based on real people who didn’t necessarily have a voice in their situation. I’ve been in films that bring awareness to sex trafficking, bullying, domestic violence, etc.
Which role has been the most challenging and which one your favorite?
I believe the role that has been the most challenging is tied between both of the sex trafficking awareness films I’ve been in, both of which are coming out this year! They are also tied for my favorite because they both support charities that help rehabilitate and rescue victims of sex trafficking and both films gave voices to a group that does not have one. Both roles challenged me physically, mentally, and my straight in drama as an actress.
What is next for Georgia T. Willow in 2019?
This being the year of my high school graduation I will not only be going to college but will continue my work as an actress! I am delighted and proud to say I already have three projects lined up to premiere this year, two being feature films and the other a short film! After a long decision process I am proud to be attending Columbia College Hollywood, not only will I be able to continue my career but also get my Bachelor in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Acting. This year holds new beginnings and the continuing of a journey!
Who is your favorite Actor/Actress? And why?
As an Actor/Actress I believe your main goal is to truly convince the audience that you are the chatter you are playing, with that said Eddie Redmayne in “The Theory of Everything” played Stephen Hawking and the late Stephen Hawking himself said the movie made him cry as he felt as if he was watching a documentary. With that said Eddie Redmayne is my favorite actor and for an actress, Nicole Kidman as I think every performance she gives I forget that it’s her because she provides remarkably different and outstanding performances for every new chapter she plays.
3 things you can’t leave your house without?
My sister, as she’s my best friend and I try to drag her everywhere with me! My phone, not because I’m addicted to it but because so much of my work relies on it now, whether it be posting on social media or being on top of my emails for new auditions/meetings. Lastly, whatever purse I’m using at the moment as I tend to get a bag and wear it until it falls apart and then the cycle begins anew.
What music do you like?
Anything I can dance to! My mama raised me on classic rock so that specific genre is nostalgic and special, but I honestly love all genres of music, although I do tend to gravitate more towards pop.
Your idea of a perfect Sunday is?
My perfect Sunday is being lazy around LA with friends and family! I’m from Los Angeles but I try to explore still and be a tourist sometimes, and Sunday tends to be that day where I can roam.
Something people don’t know about you?
People who have never met me in person don’t know that I’m only five feet tall, at first people treat me like a little kid but once they get to know me… my best friend said it best “You’re a 48 yr old trapped inside this tiny teenager body.”
What is your own definition of happiness?
Happiness to me is loving myself and being unapologetically myself. I think once you are YOU then all the happiness in the world comes to you. Happiness is different for everyone but loving myself brings me all the happiness I need and more.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
At the moment I want to meet Jameela Jamil as she has started this brilliant movement of loving what Hollywood says you shouldn’t, and that’s the exact message I try to spread! She seems like she genuinely cares about making a change for women and people all around the world and she’s a huge inspiration to me.
What do you like to watch on Tv?
Netflix and Hulu are my best friends as I rarely have the time to sit and watch tv when my favorite shows air, but some of my favorites are This is Us, Parks and Recreation, Big Little Lies, The Office, and Atlanta to name a few.
What is your favorite healthy food?
I love cooking so I like to find new healthy recipes every week to try out, but I am a sucker for a delicious soup it’s a healthy option and always SO good!
And your favorite cheat food?
Oh goodness, I have so many, but my heart is with Hot Cheetos!
Do you support any charities?
I support so many charities, and I love learning about new ones! I am currently very involved with the charity Coachart which I highly recommend checking out and either volunteering or donating to them! Their goal is to create an active art and athletic community for children who were impacted by chronic illness.
