Hello!!! Yes, to start off, my name is Jenny Katrina. I grew up traveling and moving around at a young age, bit of a nomad *laughs* Always knew playing pretend was more than a phase for me *laughs*
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Adventurous, genuine, and compassionate!
Name one your strengths?
Consistency.
How’s a typical day in your life?
Hmm, without anything pertaining to work… I snooze my alarm a few times (definitely one of those people with multiple alarms) *laughs*, finally wake up, do my morning hygiene routine, check and send my emails, grab a bite to eat, somewhere in the day I fit in the gym or a boxing session, a little bit of reading, one episode of a show I’m currently watching, spend time with my family/significant other, and if I’m not missing anything, I end my day journaling!
Who is your biggest supporter?
Definitely my parents! My mom keeps me in line whilst my dad dreams with me; he is such a dreamer. He’s always in my corner and wants nothing but the best for his little girl. Wouldn’t be here without their continued support and love *smiles* (Also, I have the best of friends who keeps me accountable and vice versa)
How did you get started in the industry?
That is a lonnnng one *laughs* my journey was definitely a journey, haha it still is. To keep it short, Google was my only source of connection, hit a few illegitimate “agencies” back to back, got a little stuck so I focused on growing up and school, a year after HS I came upon an opportunity that brought me out to LA, did a showcase, got my callbacks from multiple LEGIT agents and managers, and here I am! (that was just the start) haha
Do you have or had acting classes?
Yes! Just like any other profession, you can never get too much training. Someone is always working harder than you.
What is the best and worst part of being an actress?
I think the best part is being able to portray different characters, telling someone else’s stories, playing fictional characters you’ve only imagined of, and experiencing things under imaginary circumstances that you wouldn’t have otherwise. I wouldn’t say theres anything “bad” about it other than maybe the emotional toll it MAY have?
Best advice ever given?
To always stand up for what you believe in, to wear your heart on your sleeves no matter the outcome *smiles* and most importantly, to always have faith in The Man upstairs.
How do you prepare for a role?
Research, breaking down my script, memorizing, finding the layers, character work, etc (Also, coaching) everyone’s process is different, but that’s just my baseline 🙂
Now tell us about your work in the film “Pink Opaque?”
Pink Opaque was definitely one for the books. I originally came in for a different role, it came down to me and 2 others, they decided to go a different route, but wanted to keep me on so they found a little something for me. Super grateful for this cast and crew, can’t wait for everyone to see it!
What kind of roles do you like or would like to play and why?
I love anything with substance and has a great story with some kind of motivation behind it. Although, with that being said.. I would love to play a kick ass action role! Or SYFY, definitely SYFY,
What is next for Jenny Katrina in 2019?
I have a project currently in the works, can’t wait till I can share more with you guys! & with the grace of God, bookings!
What music do you like?
ooOOoo, that’s a good one because your girl listens to everything… I love your hip hop, country, christian, a little light edm, pop, you name it!
Your idea of a perfect Sunday is?
A day of R&R! Spending time with God, going to brunch, no social Sunday (no social media Sundays) and being present with my family and loved ones 🙂
Something people don’t know about you?
That I come from a very big big line of family
What is your own definition of happiness?
Definitely having gratitude. Happiness is not a destination, its being happy with where you are/what you have whilst working for what you want and where you want to be. Its okay to have goals, but I think always looking for the “next” thing will overshadow your state of “happiness”. I also think with gratitude, you’re filled with abundance. So as long as myself and my loved ones are joyous, healthy, loved, fed, clothed, and sheltered, I am happy 🙂 is that too much? *laughs*
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
My brother, not many people other than those who know me on a personal level know that I lost an older brother growing up at a young age due to a shooting. He was definitely my best friend, mentor, my babysitter, my cheerleader, and so much more. I’d love to have another day with him. (Sorry if I went a little solemn, most of my early interviews have been a little towards the surface end. It feels right to share on a more authentic level)
What do you like to watch on Tv?
Ahh, currently obsessed with Queen of the South and anxiously waiting for its return!
What is your favorite healthy food?
Haha, my friends call me a little bunny. (Not even for health reasons) I just love love an arugula, burrata cheese, pear, topped off with honey walnuts, and reduced vinaigrette salad. Im a creature of habit, I can go days at a time eating the same thing… OH, also an Acai bowl!
And your favorite cheat food?
Oh boy, that’s a list! On the top of my head… I’d have to say, pasta, Herseys cookies and cream bar, sorbet, Mexican candy. (maybe because I’m currently craving such things) haha
Do you support any charities?
Sure do! I support USO, Save the children, and Action against hunger/ACF. I would love to get educated on more charities out there and help out as much as I can.
