Check our interview with talented multi- instrumentalist pop singer/songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee Kevin Kolk. Defining the term ‘natural’, Kevin has honed his craft at such a young age. Truly a young musical prodigy Kevin can not only sing, write and produce, but he also flawlessly plays the guitar, piano and drums. Inspired by the likes of Post Malone, Khalid, Alec Benjamin and Ed Sheeran, Kevin has a bold and unique sound that surpasses his years. His live performance and musicality is something that he passionately develops and perfects quite literally, daily. He has an EP coming out this fall.
Kevin is known for his Instagram covers of popular songs by artists including Billie Eilish, Jon Bellion, Post Malone, and Shawn Mendes. Now, he is entering the pop music scene with his own debut single “Deep End”
Unlike most 16 year old pop singers, Kevin took a different direction with his debut single. He wants to really relate to his fans and what they go through.

Hi Kevin, please tell us a little about you?
My name is Kevin Kolk, I’m a 16 year old songwriter, producer, and pop artist from Nashville.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
3 words I would use to describe myself are musical, fun, and hardworking
When was it that you first realized that you wanted to pursue music as a career?
I’ve always felt connected to music. I’ve been singing and playing guitar for as long as I can remember. I have always known music would be a major part of my life.
Did your family support this decision?
My family has always been supportive of my music. They all encourage my growth and development of my music and my career.
What is your musical background?
I started playing guitar at age 3. I learned piano as I got older and learning how to produce came after that.
What kind of music do you listen normally?
I listen to a lot of music. I’m always looking for new artists and songs to listen to. Some of my favorite artists are Jon Bellion, Lauv, LANY, and Khalid.
Tell us about your new single “Deep End?”
“Deep End” is about dealing with anxiety and wondering if it gets better. It’s also about keeping hope in hard situations.
What music influences do you have?
My biggest influences are Jon Bellion and Lauv because they are great writers and producers, not just great singers
What is your next goal as a musician?
I have 4 other songs almost ready for release. Deep End is just the beginning!
What are the five things you can’t live without?
5 things I can’t live without would probably be my guitar, my phone, some headphones, some running shoes, and my family.
Do you get nervous before a performance?
I love to perform! I just like to have fun when I play shows. I’ve learned to just enjoy myself on stage. If I’m having a good time, I know the crowd will too.
What is next for Kevin Kolk in 2019?
This year I plan to keep releasing music, play some more shows, and keep writing for future projects.
Any advice for upcoming singers?
My advice would be to write! Learn how to create lyrics that you connect to and always appreciate all the people supporting you.
If you weren’t singing, what would you be doing?
If I was not singing you would probably find me on a run, watching basketball, or at the lake wakesurfing
Something people don’t know about you?
Something that most people don’t know about me would be that I have a twin sister and 3 other siblings.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
If I could meet anyone, it would be Jon Bellion. He is one of my biggest influences right now and a super talented artist and producer.
What is your favorite healthy food?
Homemade protein bars
And your favorite cheat food?
Chocolate chip cookies
Which project is still on your bucket list?
Well someday I would love to work with some of my favorite artists and eventually sell out arenas!
