Hi guys, please tell us a little about you?
Hey! We’re Lugui and Pedrão, brothers from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. We are the DJ and producers behind Cat Dealers, the Brazillian electronic music duo.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Focussed, obsessed and loyal.
We’re sure you have been asked this a million times but how did you get in the industry?
When we were younger we were really into electronic music and its production. Everything about it fascinated us, we were obsessed with it and we began to delve deeper and study more and more. So at one point we decided to give it a shot and try doing our own things, thats how Cat Dealers were born.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Strong, volatile and lively.
Do you play any instruments?
I (Pedrão) have actually played the drums since 2002. After we started to get really into music production, we started to study a lot. For many years we attended classical piano classes and can play a little. Nowadays I do some guitar classes as well but these classes are more directed at learning music theory than actually playing the instruments.
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
We have had so many people influencing us during our career, not only from the electronic scene. We really like to explore and listen to all kinds of music. Someone we have followed and admired for years is Skrillex, he really inspired us to start producing. We’ve been in love with music since we were kids and we really enjoyed searching about production and studying about it, so the next step was to start making our own sound and we haven’t stopped since haha.
