While they’re full of traditions dating back decades and even centuries, weddings in 2020 are set to become extravaganzas of the highest order. A day not only for the happy couple, but for the guests to enjoy and become fully immersed in, too. Here are the top trends for your 2020 wedding.
Personalised cocktails
Champagne toasts, G&Ts over canapes and whiskey at midnight are all a thing of the past. This year it’s all about creating a cocktail that symbolises the newlyweds.
Couples are employing mixologists to create custom cocktails for the guests, providing a unique element to the traditional wedding reception. They’re often served in mason jars for a rustic twist, gin glasses for all-out glamour, or champagne flutes for understated elegance.
You can even create mocktails for little ones and non-drinkers, too.
DIY flower station
Let guests know how important they are by inviting them to create their own wedding bouquet. Have your florist set up vases of flowers for your guests to choose from in your reception. This is a great activity for them to do whilst you’re having your photos taken.
Include colourful ribbons, feathers and much more. The bouquets can then double up as table favours.
Upgraded favours
Show your guests you care with a personalised favour. Include snacks and drink miniatures, as well as some photo props for silly selfies, luxury toiletries, and for that truly personal touch add a handwritten letter. To get the party going when the lights go down, include glowsticks, kazoos, maracas and confetti canons.
Photobooth 2.0
Photobooths have been a popular addition to weddings for the last few years, but you can now treat your guests to a photobooth that also creates gifs. This easy update takes your photobooth to the next level and gives your guests another form of entertainment for the evening.
Guest transportation
Treat your guests with transportation to your big day. Whether you choose a double decker bus or a convoy of vintage cars, your friends and family will love the extra effort – and the added bonus of not having to arrange transport to the wedding will also be well received.
While we don’t recommend breaking the bank to create a memorable day, using a credit card to pay for your out-of-this-world wedding offers you full protection should something go wrong. Ultimately, guests don’t care how much you spend, they’re there to celebrate the start of your journey as a married couple.
