Hi Abraham, please tell us a little about you?
Hiiiii!!! My name is Abraham Rodriguez, I’m a film and television actor, and I live in Los Angeles.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Ambitious, Creative, Loving.
Who was your role model as a child?
My role model growing up was my mom. I’ve always admired how loving and caring she is to everyone around her. She is always positive and always ready to help anyone she can in any way possible. She also gives the best advice and always has a smile on her face. I LOOOVE MY AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL MOM, Virginia Rodriguez.
How did you get started into acting?
I first started acting in plays at my church when I was six years old. When I was 13, I was in a musical theatre program outside of school. At 15 I started working on local film, television, and commercial productions in my hometown Las Vegas. I started taking film and television acting classes when I was 17 and a few months later I got an agent in LA. At 18 I moved to LA and have been working in the industry since.
How has this changed your life?
Acting has changed my life tremendously. It has given me an outlet to express myself creatively and has given me amazing once in a lifetime experiences I will forever cherish and never forget. Being an actor was something I always dreamed about as a kid and I’m so blessed that dream became a reality. Acting has also given me the opportunity to move away from home, to the iconic city of Los Angeles, at a very young age which has been a huge life changing experience that has taught me many important lessons I am very thankful for.
Tell us about your lead work in “Power Rangers Beast Morphers?”
I play Nate Silva the Gold Ranger. Nate is a child prodigy and the lead scientist at grid battle force. He is responsible for the creation and development of the Power Rangers as well as Morph-X, the substance that powers the Rangers and all their weapons. Playing Nate has been so much fun and such a different experience than other characters I’ve played and projects I’ve worked on. Being a part of the special Gold Ranger legacy is so epic! I’m super grateful to be a part of this legendary franchise.
What other projects you have been part of?
I am currently recurring in the NBCUniversal series “Saved By The Bell” as Spencer. I’ve also worked on numerous commercials for major corporations like McDonald’s, State Farm, and Ford.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
The most rewarding part is being able to put a smile on someone’s face and entertain them. It is so rewarding when all your hard work is being enjoyed and loved by the audience watching.
How would you explain your fashion style?
My fashion style really depends on my mood each day. My day to day style is very casual, I love solid and neutral colored clothes with little to no graphics or patterns. But sometimes I love to wear graphics and patterns if I’m feeling it that day. I hate and will not wear horizontal stripes, but I love vertical stripes. I’m very picky with clothes. Overall I just like to feel comfortable with what I’m wearing.
What would be a deal breaker on a first date?
If you can’t carry a good and genuine conversation.
How would your best friend describe you?
Fun, outgoing, crazy, caring, and always down for an adventure.
What’s next for Abraham Rodriguez in 2020?
I’m super thankful to start the year working on a new series and I can’t wait for it to be released later this year. I’m also looking forward to the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards where I’ve been nominated for Favorite Male TV Star and Favorite Kids TV Show. I’m super excited to see what other projects I work on and what this year has in store for me in all parts of my life.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Happiness for me is acting, doing what I love and what I’ve always dreamed of. Happiness is also spending time with the people I love most and enjoying every moment.
How is a normal day in your life?
My life is super unpredictable and each day is different. Some days I can just be relaxing at home, other days I can be at an audition, another day on set filming, and another I can wake up and be nominated for a Kids Choice Award. Not knowing what each day will bring is one of the things that makes this industry so fun and always new and exciting.
What is your idea of a perfect Sunday?
A perfect Sunday would consist of waking up and relaxing at home for a bit. Then I would go to church. After church I would go to lunch with a friend. Then I would go home and clean up my apartment. Next, I would FaceTime my family and friends back home in Las Vegas. After that I would go out and get dinner. Then for the rest of the day I would chill at home, relax some more and watch something on Netflix or Hulu.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I would love to meet Lorde. She is my favorite artist. She’s more low-key and private than most artists so I would love to get to know her as a person and talk about her music and New Zealand since she’s from there and it’s my most favorite place on earth.
What is your favorite healthy food?
I loooooove salads with lots of toppings!! I also love fruit, especially when I make it Mexican style and add fresh squeezed lime and some chili seasoning.
And your favorite cheat food?
I love love love Hot Cheetos and ice cream. I could eat it all day everyday.
Best advice ever given?
Be how you feel. Feel what you feel.
Do you support any charity?
YES!!! Immigrant Families Together! IFT is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reuniting and supporting immigrant families separated at the US/Mexico border.
Name 3 things you can’t live without?
I can’t live without my Hydro Flask, I take it EVERYWHERE I go, it’s become a part of me. I also can’t live without my phone, I need it for work and to communicate with my family and friends. Lastly, I can’t live without Hot Cheetos, I crave them 24/7!!!
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
In 5 years I see myself as a series regular on a major network television show.
Favorite song? Why?
White Teeth Teens by Lorde. It’s my favorite song because it’s from her first album and it always takes me back to the time when I first started listening to her and fell in love with her sound and her as an artist. It’s so nostalgic.
What music do you like?
Anything with a good beat that will make me want to dance and party it up!!!
What do you think of Social Media?
I love social media and believe it’s a great way to connect with people and be a positive influence and role model if used in a healthy way.
