Hi Parker, please tell us a little about you?
I’m that girl who is always on the floor with the dog at a party. Also, I’m a singer/songwriter from the Northeast living in Nashville carving out a new lane in the country music landscape.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Empathetic, warm, fiery.
Who has made the biggest impact on your life so far, and why?
Whoa, big question! I would have to say it’s a tie between my mom and dad. My mom is super feisty and taught me how to be fearless and my dad is the most caring and fun person in the world. They are the most supportive people ever.
How did you get started in the business?
By being born… haha. I have been singing for my entire life. I started my career in NYC but quickly moved to Nashville once I realized that this is where the best songwriters in the world are.
Did you go to music school?
Sure did. I went to the The American Musical and Dramatic Academy and Belmont University. Both fantastic places for arts education.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Punchy, groovy, honest.
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
My biggest artist-crushes are definitely Sheryl Crow and Eminem. They both did something completely new and carried themselves like absolute rockstars. Just badass AF.
Do you ever get nervous?
Not really. I get excited!
What is your next goal as a musician?
I want to tour more. That’s my absolute favorite part. There is nothing I enjoy more than singing into a microphone and connecting with people through lyrics and melodies.
Now tell us about your new single “Pity Party?”
“Pity Party” is an anthem for anyone who’s ever been made to feel like they have to feel bad for someone who did them wrong. It’s a song to remind people that they don’t have to let anyone walk all over them and to be with someone who will treat them like a prize.

And about the success of your singles “This Far,” and “Honest?”
I’m pumped that they’ve been streamed so much. Those are two my favorite songs that I have ever written and I love that people are connecting with them.
Do you have a tour coming up or where we can see you performing?
Things are a bit up in the air right now because of Covid19 isolation. You can stay tuned though by following me on socials and checking in on Spotify to see when I have dates coming up!
What we can expect of Parker McKay in 2020?
More music, videos, and maybe even some TikToks. I just got an account. It’s overwhelming but I’m committed to giving it a go. All the cool kids are doing it…
What is you favorite song to belt out in the car/for karaoke?
I really really really love singing “Used To You” by Dagny right now. It grooves SO. HARD. She’s killer.
Name one your strengths?
I’m very organized. I didn’t used to be but I did a complete 180 once I hit college. Now, everything has a place.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Being with someone I love, sticking to my principles no matter what and setting and achieving new goals on a consistent basis.
Any loves other than music?
Any kind of volunteering lights me up inside. Whether it’s with animals or with those in need or a political campaign. I care a lot about serving my community.
How’s a typical day in your life?
Doggos, music, great food, being with friends.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
I love a big breakfast on Sunday with an early afternoon nap if I can swing it. Sunday is also a great day to go to the dog park. It’s always packed and there is no happier place in the world.
What is your favorite healthy food?
There is a vegan restaurant by my house that serves an unbelievable smoothie bowl that has acai, cinnamon, granola, honey and bananas. It’s heaven and I can’t get enough of it.
And your favorite cheat food?
Any combination of cheese and carbs will do!
What would be a deal breaker on a first date?
Littering. EW.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I want to meet Barack Obama so badly. He accomplished something so unbelievable and I would love to talk to him about every step of the journey.
How do you see yourself in 5 years?
Holding a Grammy and on an international tour.
How would you describe your fashion style?
There is no look I love more than menswear on a woman. Any time I can wear a suit or a blazer, I do.
What do you think of Social Media?
It changes by the day. Overall, I think it’s a great thing because it brings the world together but it certainly has its faults.
