Hi guys, please tell us a little about The Mowgli’s?
Hi! The Mowgli’s are a 5 piece band from Southern California, on a mission to bring a little more love and light into this world through uplifting songalongs.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Happy Sunshiney Band ????
Who has made the biggest impact on your lifes so far, and why?
The answer is probably different for us all. It’s hard to narrow it down to one person, but right now Bernie Sanders has made a big impact on most of us. His consistent message & policies encompass hope and compassion for all people. One of his greatest slogans is “Not me. Us.”
How did you guys get started in the business?
We all have a different path that brought us together. We all loved music as kids. Some of us studied music in college & some of us hit the streets playing in bands after high school. In the end we all landed in The Mowgli’s together!
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Uplifting indie rock.
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
We all have different influences, but we do share a few of the same ones. We grew up listening to 90’s music & punk & emo. A few of the highlight inspirations include:
Nirvana
No Doubt
Sublime
Jimmy eat World
Saves the Day
The Get Up Kids
Dashboard Confessional
The Beatles ????
Do you ever get nervous?
All the time. I’m currently nervous for some reason…
What is your next goal as a musician?
We want to keep creating and releasing music. The future of touring is unclear at this moment, but we will always make music and we’ll always find a ways to get it to the people. We’re always striving to get better and learn new tricks. We want to be around forever.
Now tell us about your hit single “Weight On Me?”
This song came from the feeling of having the weight of the world on your shoulders. We’re always experimenting with new sounds & we wanted to really go outside of the box for this track. We invited our friend jinjoo (DNCE) to shred a solo at the end and what we got really rounded out the end of the track!

What’s the feeling of the huge success in Spotify with over 150M streams?
We’re always reminding each other that this could all be gone tomorrow & we try our best to stay grateful everyday. We’re very happy to have this number of streams. We’re happy to think that our music helps people get through hard times and puts a smile on so many faces.
Do you have a tour coming up or where we can see you performing?
We had a summer tour but things are all turned upside down with COVID-19. We’ll be posting everywhere as soon as we know anything.

More music! More Live-streams!! More music videos!!!

How’s a typical day in your life?
Our daily lives are very different on tour and off tour. On tour we usually wake up in a different city, roll into sound check followed by going on a run or writing music or exploring.
Then the highlight of our lives, playing a show!Off tour, we are always writing music, making videos, playing soccer, going on hikes and to comedy shows. We try to involve our dogs in our lives as much as we can.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
Wake up, play soccer, watch soccer, talk to family & friends, write a song. Pretty much sums it up.

Blueberries (AKA Blubes)
And your favorite cheat food?
Lasagna

They bring their parents… ????????
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I would want to meet George Harrison and pick his brain about music and life. He was always a huge inspiration on and off the stage for me.
How do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself in a recording studio making songs with my friends.
How would you describe your fashion style?
“Whatever’s clever”
What do you think of Social Media?
I wouldn’t use it much if i didn’t have a band. I think it can be very problematic and we’re in too deep to even have that conversation. I can’t imagine just being a person using social media everyday. But i do know it has its upsides. There are many positive aspects of social media. So i guess it’s a 50/50 Love/Dislike kinda thing…
