Tell us about your new single Bad Thing?
My new single “Bad Thing” appeals to pre-teen and teenage age groups. I attended IMTA (International model and talent agency convention in New York, July 2019) last summer and won a scholarship to record an original song. “Bad Thing” has been the result of that. My co-author came up with the original idea of a “bad thing”. More than likely it was based on a relationship he has had or observed. I enjoyed the entire process from the recording studio to filming the music video and seeing the final product. Naturally, when I write songs, my style is very folk-pop similar to Jewels, but I feel as though “Bad thing” captures the pop genre in me.

Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
My heart influences my music. I’ve always used the expression “from my heart to my art” when describing my music. I am the baby of many many siblings who all love different genres of music. I was fortunately exposed to a wide variety of music from rock to classical at a young age that I’ve really been able to figure out what my style is. It wasn’t that I chose music it was always in me. Music has been a language I speak fluently but is foreign to many others.
Who has made the biggest impact on your life so far, and why?
My family has been a very large part of my life so far. Every time I would be hanging out with a friend they would make me sing for them. My sisters sacrificed a lot of time to teach me how to figure skate and train. My mother has always been my biggest supporter in the music aspect of my life. She always encouraged me to learn instruments and sing in choirs. My father has made the biggest impact on my life thus far because of the lessons and experiences I have gone through with him. He has influenced my life holistically. He taught me to invest in talent and not materialistic, not just money, but time and energy as well.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
I see myself being a household name. I see my music inspiring, reaching, accepting, capturing, loving, everyone. I want to be the artist who people cannot help but talk about because my music connects with them on a level that has not been reached before. I want to have my songs stuck in people’s heads.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
I am a strategic, proactive, and compassionate person.
Favorite song? Why?
This is a tough one, I love soooooo many songs. As of today, my favorite song is Jewel’s “Who Will Save Your Soul”, but I love and appreciate music from many genres. I love this song in particular because of Jewel’s complex and smart lyrics, and also the rhythm.
What music inspires you?
When I listen to a song and it gives me chills I know I connect to it and it inspires me. Typically, raw and acoustic songs inspire me because I feel as though they are sung with a message from the heart.
What do you think of Social Media?
I think social media is a blessing and a curse. Right now during social distancing, it is a blessing because it allows us to stay connected digitally. Social media for an artist is huge because it is an outlet to share music. It is especially useful right now for artists because music is healing and is needed during a time like this. Artists across the world are taking advantage of social media to connect people through their music.
