Describe yourself in 3 words?
Quiet, but outgoing once you get to know me. And fun!
We’re sure you have been asked this million times but how did you get in the industry?
I got started in the modeling industry when I was really young, because my mom helped get me started. As I got older, I got more involved with Playboy and those companies when I was 18 simply by applying online.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
House, EDM and Dance music!
Do you ever get nervous?
I of course get nervous before anything new that I do or anything that’s big and important.
Tell us about the news of being the official DJ for the Paradise Challenge in Jamaica?
Being the official DJ for Paradise Challenge is so exciting. I used to just attend this event as a model and now being able to attend it as their official DJ is so exciting. I can’t wait to set the mood in Jamaica!
What’s the Paradise Challenge about?
The Paradise Challenge – Jamaica is a huge event open for not only models and photographers, but also open for DJ’s and the public. It’s just a big party with some of the hottest Instagram models and photographers, essentially.
Which artists and styles inspired and influenced you?
The style of music that I love and am inspired by would for sure be House music…especially with DJ’s such as Chris Lake and Fisher.
When all the partying is over how do you like to chill out?
When I’m not traveling/ DJing I love chilling at home in LA with my dog and just staying in. Honestly, for the most part, I am a home body, but I know how to turn it on and turn it up when I’m out and about.
Best stage you have ever play?
The best stage I’ve ever played was for sure in Jamaica last year. It’s always the best vibes.
Funniest thing that ever happened at an event?
Nothing funny/ embarrassing has happened at an event YET. I am so clumsy though so, it’s probably only a matter of time!
What’s your favorite club to DJ in?
My favorite club to DJ in is again for sure the club I played at in Jamaica last year.
Did you had plans/gigs planned and cancelled because of COVID? If so have you done any online events or interaction with your fans?
The way my schedule works is everything is usually planned for the most part pretty last minute so, I only had to cancel a few photoshoots and a couple of traveling gigs, but for the most part when the corona virus hit, luckily it didn’t affect me that much. Also, because of corona, I was able to DJ a live event called Red House. It had a stage, lights and everything. It was super legit, but just with no audience and of course a lot of hand sanitizer!
What is fun and rewarding about what you do? And what’s not?
The most rewarding thing about what I do is that I am able to save money for my future as well as occasionally buy nice things for not only myself, but also my mom and brothers who are my #1 supporters.
Now on the modeling side, How and when did you start into modeling?
My mom got me started in modeling when I was about 5/6 years old. When I was younger I worked for various companies such as Old Navy kids, Gap kids, Esprit, and I had some commercials for DirectTV, Hyundai etc;
The most important thing when you are shooting is?
The most important thing when I am shooting is lighting! Lighting is always important whether it’s natural or the photographer is lighting the set themselves.
What’s your advice for the newer models?
My advice for newer models would just be to collaborate as much as you can with other models and photographers, that is really what’s going to help you not only make connections but also to grow your social media presence.
What’s next for Tahlia Paris in the last months of 2020?
The next steps for me is I am hopefully going to be working on some Tahlia Paris merchandise coming out soon. And also with things starting to open up slightly, I will hopefully get back to my traveling for DJing and modeling.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
The best book is Zero to One!
Best advice ever given?
Best advice I’ve ever been given is to enjoy and live my life the way I want, because no matter what I do there’s always going to be someone mad and unhappy about it so I might as well live it the way I want.
Name one your strengths?
One of my strengths is I am always on time.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
A perfect Sunday would be going on a hike, chilling at home and getting ready for my week.
What is your own definition of happiness?
I believe that happiness is found from within, not from anyone or somewhere else, but within yourself. When you’re truly happy and don’t care about what anyone else thinks except for yourself, that’s all that matters.
Do you support any charities?
I do support a charity, and it’s called Road Dogs. Check them out!
What is your favorite healthy food?
My favorite healthy place to get food hands down is Tender Greens.
And your favorite cheat food?
My favorite cheat food would be any type of pizza.
What would be a deal breaker on a first date?
A deal breaker on the first date for me would be if someone didn’t want kids.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
If I could meet someone it would be my great grandma on my mom’s side who passed away when I was much younger. I heard she was a lot of fun and the life of the party just like me.
How do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years, I see myself settled down, owning a house and possibly married.
How would you describe your fashion style?
My fashion style is interesting, because although I am somewhat a girly-girl and I love dresses and heels and occasionally pink, I also love the more tom-boy style like Jordans’ and basketball shorts.
What do you think of Social Media?
Social media and I have a love/hate relationship, because although it’s great to connect to people and get my name out there more, in the past year I had 5 Instagram accounts deleted and my Snapchat deleted for absolutely no reason. I also have dozens and dozens of fake accounts of me on Instagram including one with over 450,000 followers. These accounts make money off my name which is super discouraging for how hard I’ve worked to be where I am – if you come across them, report them!
