In 2005 Anaís distinguished herself amongst her fellow competitors on Objetivo Fama with her striking appearance and commanding performances. Her debut record followed shortly thereafter, released in 2006. Entitled Asi Soy Yo, the record peaked at number 79 on Billboard’s Hot 100. The “Asi Soy Yo Tour” was launched in September of that year, selling out auditoriums throughout Puerto Rico. The record also garnered the Anaís a host of award nominations, including the Latin Grammy’s “Best Pop Album” and Lo Nuestro’s “Best New Artist.” The song “Arriba, Arriba” was released as Univision’s Fifa World Cup Soccer anthem for ’06 featuring Anaís performing alongside artists Ana Bárbara, Pablo Montero and Marian Seoane. The single brought Anaís widespread fame, announcing her as a rising star in Latino music.

Hi Anais, please tell us a little about you?
My name is Anais I was born in Dominican Republic, came here when I was 6, I was raised in the Bronx. I’m a mother of two and a singer.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Real, honest and a fighter.
Who has made the biggest impact on your life so far, and why?
The biggest person that have made an impact in my life would be my mother, she never stops fighting for life and to stay strong.
Did you go to music school?
I did take some classes for music. I use to belong to a singing group called Los Cumbancheros.
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
No one influence me in music , I had always the passion for music , the reason why I chose music it’s cause I have always been a fan of art and music it’s what I always wanted to do since a young Age.
Do you play any instrument?
I don’t play an instrument but I love piano and guitar.
Tell us about your hit single?
My new single it’s a dance flow, I made the lyrics playful and fun, rather than talk about pain and emotions.
What’s the story behind the song?
The story behind the song it’s about a guy who only like to smoke and have fun, but I’m telling him I have what’s his looking for even tho I don’t like his addictions, it’s something we can relate when it comes to relationships.
Do you ever get nervous?
I do get nervous all the time I pray before I do anything ,before stage or tv but I do get nervous.
Which project is still on your bucket list?
My next goals as a musician it’s to make music with lyrics and rhythm that people can relate and feel I want them to feel the words and the music other than to hear it only.
What inspires you to create new music?
What inspires me to make music is my fans they always have the drive for more they always expect more of me and tell me their stories, I love to put a story together and write a song and ride with what comes out.
What is you favorite song to belt out in the car/for karaoke?
My favorite song to play in the car it’s called Saro by niniola it’s an Afro beat,I love that song it makes me want to dance.
What’s next for Anais in 2021?
Well I’m going to keep on pushing for new music and focus on my accessories line for my bags and home decor it’s something new for me and my team and can’t wait to show my fans.
What is your own definition of happiness?
My own definition of happiness would be, to be at peace with your inner self clear your mind and focus on your path you do this every day and you would be happy, it’s important to be at peace in all levels and clear yourself from negative energy.
Any loves other than music?
My other passion besides music its food, I love cooking and finding new flavors.
How’s a typical day in your life?
A typical day In my life would start with music, then my kids schools, their meals and my meditation every day it’s important for me, taking care of my family comes first then I focus on my job, music or modeling but I do it from home or locations but I don’t have time most of the day to relax the kids take plenty of energy from me.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
A perfect Sunday for me starts with church it’s important to give at least one day of your week to God and then have a meal with your family, Sunday’s are great to be at home with the family after heating the word of God, that’s a perfect Sunday for me.
What is your favorite healthy food?
My favorite healthy food would be fish and broccoli I love them together.
And your favorite cheat food?
My favorite cheat food would be pizza or hamburger can’t go wrong lol.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
If I can meet someone living or dead, would be Beyoncé. She’s been a very influence in my Carrier and in music, I would love to meet that women.
Do you support any charities?
I have support charities in the past for Haiti and Dominican Republic for hurricanes, it was amazing to know I was helping and others was going to feel safe cause of what we were doing, I love helping it’s the best someone can do.
How do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see my self In five years working on new talents and pushing developing artist forward help them with their music and guide them in the business, it’s important to have someone who can push you on being better and have the support.
What do you think of Social Media?
Well I think it’s a big help to promote yourself your or your work but it’s important to not mix your emotions online with personal details I think it’s best to use social media for work and not to expose your personal life.
