Hi Tess, please tell us a little about you?
I’m a first generation American. German was my first language. I was born August 23, and grew up in Corona Del Mar, CA. I had a great combination of an American- European upbringing. I feel both influences are prevalent in my life today.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Motivated. Loyal. Kindhearted.
Name one your strengths?
Resiliency.
Best advice ever given?
Live your life to your fullest potential.
How and when did you start into modeling?
When I was 15 years old, I signed with Elite Model Management in LA. My first job was for Cosmopolitan magazine. Not bad for a first gig!
What did you learn from your biggest failure?
It’s so important to take care of yourself: in mind, body, and soul. You can’t live up to your fullest potential if those three aren’t in order.
The most important thing when you are shooting is?
To feel confident. It shows through the photographs.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz & The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma.
What’s next for Tess Annique in 2021?
Lots of exciting things happening in both my work life and personal life! Hoping covid settles down a bit. I like to have my hands in as many projects as possible. Guess you’ll have to wait and see!
In five years from now, where do you see yourself and your career?
Balancing being a mother, supporting my (soon-to-be) husband, and my career. I don’t know how moms do it! Superwomen.
What is your favorite healthy food?
I learned how to cook during quarantine. I really love cooking dinner at home for my family. Typically chicken or steak and a salad or veggies. I like to mix it up.
And your favorite cheat food?
Anything with cheese + tomatoes: pizza and pasta!
What is your own definition of happiness?
Being happy and comfortable with my authentic self.
What is your workout routine these days?
I strength train 4-5 times a week at my gym, Fit Club. I workout with my trainer Kevin Bodda and he’s really helped me tone my body. I love working out and feeling strong- helps me feel sane.
How would you explain your fashion style and what items in your closet can you not be without?
I like to mix masculine + feminine pieces. Sexy with cool. Girlie with a bit of tomboy. I like to mix it up. Sneakers are my favorite thing. But I also can’t live without bikinis.
What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?
Anywhere with white sand and warm water. Bora Bora or Bali with my soon to be hubby! (Annique is engaged to former NHL Defensemen Sheldon Souray).
What music do you like?
I have a little bit of everything on my phone. I have to workout to intense rap. I love driving to country music. I listen to worship music and I listen to 90s r&b. I like a good mix.
3 things you can’t leave home without?
Phone, purse, keys (and mask)
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
Family. Church. Football. Food. Can you tell I love the fall?
Where we can follow you?
Quote: Be better than who you were yesterday.
Holiday Destination: Anywhere with beaches and sunshine!
Drink: I don’t drink alcohol, but I love my caffeine. I love coffee with double-double (it’s a Canadian coffee creamer), it really is the best thing ever. Sadly, only available in Canada.
Favorite song? Why? Feeling Good by Nina Simone (there’s lots of good remixes too!) It gets me in such a positive mindset.
Sports Team: We’re a hockey family, and recently moved to Nevada. So I’ll say the Vegas Golden Knights.
Movie: Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Angelina can do no wrong.
