Hi Stacy, and Artem please tell us a little about you?
We were born in Russia in a medium size city called Krasnodar. Our Mom from early age enrolled us in acting and singing classes which she also taught in her own private Theater school in Russia. We grew up performing and always loved movies and theater, especially Hollywood productions and actors. It was our dream to become actors and bring happiness to people and we are excited that after all the hard work it paid off. Of course we are super happy to be in America where there are so many opportunities to farther develop and express our talents.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Artem: Adventurous, Curious, Athletic;
Stacy: Kind, Energetic, Creative.
We’re sure you have been asked this million times but how did you get in the industry?
When we came to America, our family travelled a lot as we explored this great country by going on a road trips. As we travelled, we made some videos about our adventures and posted them on YouTube for our friends and family to see back home in Russia. To our surprise other people started to watch them as well from all different countries and the feedback and comments was phenomenal. Because of this positive feedback, our Mom Elena decided that we should try and make professional scripted programming for children to post on YouTube, especially since our youngest sister Mia was only 2 years old at that time. We started our 1st channel in 2019 and called it «Nastya Artem Mia» and the rest as we say is history — now we have 17 channels in 12 different languages and close to 20 million subscribers on YouTube.
Best advice ever given?
Never give up on your dreams, don’t be afraid to make mistakes and learn from them, be organized and work hard.
Tell us about your very popular YouTube channel “Nastya Artem Mia?”
It is a platform of 14 channels in 12 different languages starring us and our youngest sister Mia. We make inspirational videos that focus primarily on early childhood education and fun energetic story lines. Our programming teaches our young fans such qualities as respect, kindness, creativity and helping others. All our videos are based on original story telling which often comes from our everyday lives and activities. Videos are also scripted, professionally staged and edited for sound and visual effects.
How often do you upload new content?
We make 3-4 live action full production videos per week and upload them every other day on YouTube — we also create visual stories content for our Instagram pages but that is less structured but we do post there every other day as well.
What are the core values that you guys want to teach to your fans?
This is very important to us — we do not just make videos that are empty — all our videos are inspirational and have an underlying message that we try to bring to our fans. Most important core values we teach are: creativity, respect, curiosity, self-expression, kindness to others, helping and supporting others, importance of learning and trying new things.
What do you think is the secret to have a successful YouTube channel?
Originality, creativity and persistence coupled with hard work ethic — it is not easy and requires great dedication and discipline to be successful on YouTube.
Any advice to other influencers/entrepreneurs?
Once you start, keep going and learn and improve on your mistakes — it will not be smooth and easy at the beginning but don’t get discouraged and keep working at it — results will come and will bring besides success lots of happiness — just follow your dreams and do your best every day.
As a popular influencers you are followed by so many young people. How do you feel about that pressure of doing always the right thing, and encourage people to follow their dreams?
Sometimes pressure for time alone can be overwhelming, especially when we have a lot of school work and family and friends activities and outings – this sometimes gets tricky to manage. Always doing the right thing and setting a good example is actually pretty easy for us — we love what we do and it is in our DNA and comes easy — but we do follow basic but strict rules in our everyday lives – treat others with respect and dignity and always be humble.
How do you guys manage all the social success you have, and the part that everyone is looking to you all the time?
We do get recognized every time we go out, even in our local grocery store or the mall. It is a humbling experience for us as we love and appreciate all of our fans, we try to interact with our fans on Instagram and sometimes even do meet ups where we can spend time and inspire them to follow their dreams whatever they are.
Who is your favorite Actor/Actress? And why?
Artem likes Will Smith because of his ability to take on diverse and challenging roles ( from comedy to drama) and how he always gives himself 100% to every character he portrays.
Stacy’s favorite actress is Millie Bobby Brown from «Stranger Things» — because she possesses amazing acting skills and phenomenal on screen energy while being young for the complicated roles she plays.
What’s next for you guys and for the Nastya Artem Mia channel in 2021?
We have big plans for 2021! We plan to make more educational videos for children to somewhat substitute for schools being closed with Covid and to bring happiness to them and their parents during these difficult times. We are also planning to move to Los Angeles to be closer to the industry and the opportunities. We are working hard on advancing our «H20» channels which focus on challenges and entertaining content for teenagers. Also we are exploring some traditional media projects as well that focus on animation and full production scripts for movies and tv shows. We know 2021 will be great and very productive for us!
What is your own definition of happiness?
Just always be yourself and kind to others and you will be happy- no need for games!
In five years from now, where do you see yourself and your career? We hope to continue to produce for our channels and grow them to more languages to reach wider audiences and continue to bring happiness to our fans. And of course we are looking forward to starring in great movies and TV shows!
How would your best friend describe you?
As loyal, caring and understanding.
Which project is still on your bucket list?
Star in the productions with our favorite actors.
What music do you like?
Pop and dance music are our favorite.
Do you support any charity?
Since we have a lot of props and toys from our videos, we always donate them to local Salvation Army stores and we are planning to start working with a local charity that takes care of animals.
What is your favorite food?
Artem likes sushi and pizza;
Stacy loves healthy salads and sushi.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Artem would love to meet Will Smith and Stacy would love to meet Millie Bobby Brown.
How’s a normal day in your life?
During the week it is school 1st till about 3:30, then short brake and homework. If we film than it is production time and then family time before sleep. We try to keep our weekends free and open so we can do family things all day — go to the beach and visit new places, meet up with friends and do activities together.
What is your idea of a perfect Sunday?
Spend time with family and friends doing fun and new things!
What do you think of social media?
It is a great tool that allows people to connect and express their talents and creativity — but we do understand that it can also be used for wrong purposes and we are always aware of this in our actions.
