Nashville singer, songwriter, and recording artist, Athxna, has a unique voice like you’ve never heard before. With her bold vocals and insane range Athxna has a perfect mix of blues and pop that you can cry and dance to.
Athxna started her musical journey at the age of five when her Yiayia gave her her piano. Though she loved learning classics like Mozart and Bach, she fell in love with the Blues. Singers like Ella Fitzgerald, Muddy Waters, Adele, Bessie Smith, and Amy Winehouse have influenced Athxna’s style and aesthetic.
After living in New Orleans for six years Athxna packed up her bags and made her way to Nashville to break into the music industry and have her voice heard. Whenever Athxna sings the whole room listens, it’s hard not to.

Passionate, Talented, Kind.
We’re sure you have been asked this million times but how did you get in the industry?
Well I’ve played piano since I was five and this has been my dream ever since then but really id say when I went to university in New Orleans for music industry studies where I learned the business side of things!
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Unique, bold, seductive.
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
My grandmother really influenced me when I was younger to create music, my dad and mom who both listen to SUCH different genres and who always had music playing in the house. Singers like Ella Fitzgerald who had to go through so much just to be able to perform.
Do you play any instrument?
Yes! I play piano and guitar.
Do you ever get nervous?
AHAHAHAH YES. ALL THE TIME!
Tell us about your new single “EDEN?”
Well Eden is all about sex and passion. It’s a fun song to get intimate to and I have a video coming out for it soon! We actually shot it last night!
What’s the story behind the song?
Really just feeling empowered no matter who you are. Size, sex, race.
Did you have plans/concerts planned and cancelled because of COVID? If so have you done any online concerts or interaction with your fans?
As of right now I do not, I want more content before I tackle that beast.
Which project is still on your bucket list?
Sooo many! I really want to start performing. I’m not there yet though.
What is fun and rewarding about what you do? And what’s not?
Touching people with my music and being an artist comes with its own difficulties.
What’s next for Athxna in 2021?
More music, more often, more more more.
What is your favorite song? And why?
That is such a hard one. I love Cry me a River by Ella Fitzgerald, I love Dazed and confused by Led Zeppelin, Strange Fruit by Billie Holiday.
Any loves other than music?
I love so much of life! I love the outdoors, art, my dog, my partner haha I love life!
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I’d want to meet Billie holiday and talk about everything she’s done and everything she went through with her song Strange Fruit.
Best advice ever given?
My motto “Baby Steps” nothing good happens over night. Things take time so be kind to yourself.
How’s a typical day in your life?
Right now it’s taking care of Xena (my puppy), working, working out, and getting my music stuff done.
Name one your strengths?
Persistence haha.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
Being lazy at home with Paul and Xena.
What is your favorite song to belt out in the car/for karaoke?
LEAN ON ME!
What is your own definition of happiness?
I’ve struggled with depression for a long time and my definition of being happy is just being able to be HAPPY. Feeling fulfilled and working towards my goals.
Do you support any charities?
Right now I financially don’t but it’s something I’d like to do soon.
What is your favorite healthy food?
I love salads, specifically salad at sweet green.
And your favorite cheat food?
Taco Bell haha.
What would be a deal breaker on a first date?
Being kind to the staff wherever we are.
How do you see yourself in 5 years?
Being on a stage in a big arena playing My music for thousands!
How would you describe your fashion style?
Eclectic and a little goth haha.
What do you think of Social Media?
It’s a way for us to connect so I love that but It’s a lot of pressure to be on it 24/7.
