Check out our interview with professional singer, dancer and performer Jaimie Steck who just released her single “Roll The Dice.” The song is a mix of 80s anthemic rock and pop with influences of artists such as Bonnie Tyler and a modern day Britney Spears.

Hi Jaimie, please tell us a little about you?
My name is Jaimie Steck. I’m a pop performing artist from Orlando, Florida. My goal is bring back the over the top performing styles we used to see heavily with the greats. From my videos to my live performances I want it to be an all out experience for the viewer to be entertained and feel the urge to dance along as well.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Driven. Passionate. Dynamic.
How did you get started in the business?
One day I told myself “if singing is what you’re passionate about having as a career in life, why are you not going for it full on?” I was in bi-weekly vocal lessons starting the next day. About 3 months in, my coach said I should start thinking about releasing a single soon, and so it all began.
How has this changed your life?
I found a passion that fuels my soul every step of the way. There’s always a next creative step to take in my career whether it’s writing a new song or creating the next video. There’s never a dull moment and the joy and happiness I get from living my dream and enjoying my career is the most fulfilling feeling.
We’re sure you have been asked this million times but how did you get in the industry?
I went full steam ahead. I knew what my style and persona was and I knew I needed everything I put out to be professional from the jump. I never cut corners with my videos or exactly what I envisioned because I needed people to see me for exactly who I wanted to be even without full funding from an outside source.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Euphoric. Heart-Pounding. Lively.
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
I’ve been putting on full length concerts in my living room since I was 6, so even though it sounds cliche the music kind of chose me. I’m heavily influenced by Britney Spears because of the feeling I get when I watch her perform especially her Dream Within A Dream Tour. When I watch her I get an anxiety feeling of knowing that’s what I need to do. That’s what I want to do with my life and I can’t wait to finally be able to do it myself.
Do you play any instrument?
I started playing piano when I was younger and picked it back up recently during the lockdowns. I forgot how much I missed it.
Do you ever get nervous?
Absolutely, but in a good way. It’s always good to be nervous but I find the nerves turn to adrenaline and when I’m performing it’s the most fulfilling feeling in the world.
Tell us about your new single “Roll The Dice?”
Roll the Dice tells the story of someone who took the chance of being in a relationship with someone who is notorious for just wanting to have fun and not take things too seriously. When it finally happens that they don’t want to settle down you, you can’t be upset at them because “you knew the odds and rolled the dice”. You took the chance anyway and it didn’t go your way.
What’s the story behind the song?
I had one specific person I was dating for a bit that really thought he had me wrapped around his finger regardless of the fact that he knew I wasn’t trying to commit to him long term. After I decided to go separate ways he held a grudge against me and this song is my diary entry back to him of “you knew the odds and you rolled the dice.”
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
Watching the greats in the music industry over the years and longing to have that life and that experience is something I’ve wished for all of my life. Working hard and never giving up to the point that I’m now living the life I always dreamed without cutting corners is very validating.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
When did you start dancing?
I started with ballet when I was five and expanded my styles from there.
Did you take dancing classes?
Yes! My classes started in my neighborhood clubhouse then moved to studios.
Any advice for aspiring dancers?
Always keep your body moving. So much of dancing is feeling the music and muscle memory that the more you keep engaging your body the easier it will be to pick up choreography down the line.
What do you love most about dancing?
Feeling connected to yourself. So much can be expressed through movement. It’s an art that tells a story and being able to convey how your feeling or want other people to feel through your body is amazing.
What type of dance do you like best?
Though I really enjoy group choreography for music videos my own personal favorites are partner dances (tango, salsa, etc.). I enjoy the intensity and the stories they can tell.
What would say are the greatest lessons you learned so far?
Never change your style or your visions because of the opinions of someone else. There have been countless times that someone has had an opinion that they bestowed upon me that wouldn’t have worked in the long run had I listened. I know what I want my career to be and I keep focused on that every step of the way.
How would your best friend describe you?
An adventurous soulmate with a heavy heart of compassion.
If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
Queen of hearts. It’s a two sided title meaning I can kind and loving to those around me or I can be a heart breaker. It’s always good to have balance.
What’s next for Jaimie Steck in 2021?
MUSIC. MUSIC. MUSIC. The more music the better!
What is your favorite healthy food?
Grilled chicken salad. So good!
And your favorite cheat food?
Checkers Big Buford meal with a chocolate milk shake. You can’t beat Checkers fries!
How would you explain your fashion style?
A combination of 70s bell bottom jeans, 80s leather jackets, and early 2000s halter tops. Topped off with a bedazzle gun.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Waking up every morning feeling light. Being surrounded by people who only bring positivity and growth to your life.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Sierra Boggess. She has the most skilled and beautiful vocal talent. On top of that she is an incredibly positive and inspiring human. To be able to sit with her and discuss her techniques and tricks would be great.
Best advice ever given?
Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.
Do you support any charity?
Give Kids the World & American Cancer Society are two I’ve worked with for a long period of time.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
Signed by a label and #1 on the top 100 charts while my franchise movie is #1 at the box office. Very much manifesting in this moment, a girl can dream.
Favorite song? Why?
Poison by Alice Cooper. This song strikes me as a longing, lustful number you’d see between two lovers in a movie. Gives me chills every time I listen to it. Very close second to No One Like You by Scorpions.
What do you think of Social Media?
If it’s used in a positive way and not to bring harm to other people it’s an incredible tool. I laugh more frequently to the things I see on social media than I ever do in real life.
