Smooth around the edges and ablaze on the inside, Diana Miro’s intimate, rich, soul-dipped vocals confidently complement melodic techno and the lush, emotional harmonies of progressive house. Based in Amsterdam, she has spent the last several years focusing on these genres and collaborating with the likes of Cosmic Gate, Eelke Kleijn, Avira, Estiva and many more. Performing with Eelke Klein during his Cercle performance in March 2021, they performed their collaboration ‘You’ at the breathtaking top floor of the ancient Le Mont Saint Michele Castle in France. With upcoming releases on Armada, Atlant and her recent release ‘Into The Wild’ with Jackarta on Purified Records, Diana Miro continues to take the dance music world by storm.

Hi Diana, welcome to Naluda Magazine! Where are we speaking to you from today?
Greetings from Amsterdam!
Can you tell us how you got into the music world?
My parents are both pianists. I don’t think I had a choice really :))
You have worked with some incredible artists, is there one project that really stood out to you?
Every project and every artist I work with are very dear to me in their own way. But probably “All Of Me” with Estiva and “The Worship” with Avira will be the most special. In these records I had a chance to express some of my deeper thoughts in a format of a full-length song. Both Avira and Estiva produced amazing instrumentals precisely reflecting the mood of the vocal line.
You performed your collaboration ‘You’ with Eelke Kleijn during his Cercle set at the ancient Le Mont Saint Michele Castle in France. What was that experience like for you?
It was unforgettable. First of all, creating music with Eelke is a beautiful and quite challenging process itself, because he is already a legend. While “Cercle” is one of the most daring media platforms of our times. Put it together, and you’ll find yourself singing on the rooftop of the medieval castle observing limitless skies above and never ending sea waves below, knee deep in Eelke’s electronic sound :)) It’s mind-blowing and perception-changing.
You have just released ‘Into The Wild’ with Jackarta on Purified Records. Can you tell us about this project, how it came about, and what the process was like?
We’ve gotten in touch with guys about a year ago, starting our collaboration with totally different song. For some reason it didn’t work out for us at that time, but we decided to give it another try. Communication with Jackarta is always easy, they’re super friendly, a good sense of humor. When I listened to their demo it always carried me away to some nordic wild corners of the earth, like the fjords in Norway where I’ve been once. That’s how “Into The Wild” was born. I’m happy to see it’s finally released on Purified Records.
How was it working with Purified?
Our cooperation was easy and positive.
Who is your biggest supporter?
I guess my other half 🙂 But if we’re talking about industry people, l greatly appreciate the support my collaborations get from ASOT and ABGT radio shows.
Which artists and styles inspired and influenced you?
My music background is quite mixed. From classical music and jazz to underground electronica and indie music. I guess Apparat (Moderat), Aphex Twin, The Cinematic Orchestra, Bjork, and Radiohead would be at the top of the list.
When all the partying is over how do you like to chill out?
Walking in a park, lying on the beach, drinking latte macchiato in a cozy cafe. Don’t mind taking “Vogue” dancing class 😉
Best stage you have ever played?
”Cercle”. Nothing can beat it for now.
What was the first record that you bought?
“Spice Girls” album 🙂
What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
Practice a lot and never stop believing your musical intuition.
Best and worst thing about your job?
The the best thing about being a singer-songwriter is that you can share your emotions & thoughts with other people via text and sound, and maybe, if you’re blessed enough, even help other people to feel better sometimes. The hardest thing about this job is that one should learn how to stay constantly creative (believe me, it’s exhausting sometimes) and also how to coop with constant denials from the industry. You can write 20 songs, but only one will be released in the end. But it’s okay. Never stop. Move on.
Who would be your dream to work with?
Oh, there’re so many 🙂 Probably Sasha Ring from Apparat, but I never heard of him making any collaborations with other singers 🙂
Best track to get the party started?
“DJ Koze – Pick Up”. My guilty disco pleasure.
Best track to wind the night down?
“Chicane – Saltwater” or “Mind Against – Walking Away”.
Your idea of a perfect Sunday is?
Exploring a new city 🙂
What do you like to watch on TV?
If by TV we mean YouTube/Netflix etc, then I’m a big fan of astrophysics, history, and art documentaries. I’m quite a nerd 🙂
What is your favorite healthy food?
Avocado & mango.
And your favorite cheat food?
Grilled mozzarella sticks ????????♀️
How do you see yourself in 5 years?
I hope to move to my solo releases and to work more in a cinematic field of music. If this won’t be the case I’d be happy to keep on collaborating with electronic artists.
Do you support any charities?
I support a local rescue team for animals in Amsterdam. They do an amazing job.
