Hi Ashley, please tell us a little about you?
I grew up in Illinois, lived in California for a while and now reside in Arizona with my husband and our rescue fur-babies. I’m a huge animal lover and advocate for vegan living.
I’m passionate about health and fitness and do online vegan fitness coaching, which I really love!
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Passionate, Hard-working and stubborn!
How and when did you start into modeling?
I started modeling in middle school but didn’t really pursue it as a career until I moved to California about 7 years ago.
What is fun and rewarding about modeling?
The best part of modeling is being able to play dress up and work with amazing brands. Also, being able to meet so many interesting people along the way!
Can you name a few of the brands you are working or have worked with?
Celsius, Bellator, Livbody, Buffbunny Collection, Maxim, Monster Energy, Escante Lingerie, Sweet Treats Bikinis, Colleen Kelly Swimwear, GQ, Be Flawless Cosmetics, NanaMacs, Vegan Athletewear, Cheri Fit, Cute Booty Lounge
What did you learn from your biggest failure?
From failures and mistakes along the way, I’ve learned to keep moving forward and stay positive.
The most important thing when you are shooting is?
The most important thing is to be prepared – get plenty of sleep the night before, bring snacks/water, take care of your mind and body! It seems like a no-brainer but don’t show up hungover! I’ve seen so many girls do this!
What’s your advice for the newer models and influencers?
My advice is to stay true to who you are and what you stand for. Also, don’t burn bridges!
How did you get started into the social media business?
I started on social media just by posting photos at events and shoots I was at and it grew from there.
What mindsets helped make you so successful and popular?
I try to not compare my journey to anyone else’s. We all have our own path and there’s room for all of us at the top.
When you started your Social Media accounts, did you expect such success?
I didn’t really start monetizing my social media until several years ago. I found that when I became more comfortable with myself, people and brands started to pay more attention to me. People love authenticity and want to be able to relate to you.
As a popular model and influencer you are followed by so many people. How do you feel about that pressure of always doing the right thing, and encourage people to follow their dreams?
I honestly don’t really feel pressure to always do the right thing. I’m human and will make mistakes like everyone else. When I make a mistake, I own up to it. I think anyone who presents themselves as having it all together and knowing it all, is probably only fooling themselves.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
Every entrepreneur should read How I Built This by Guy Raz.
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
I would tell myself to stop worrying about what other people think and just live your life and do what you want. People are always going to judge you and have something to say, especially when you’re in the public eye.
What would you say are the greatest lessons you learned so far?
To be true to myself.
Which project is still on your bucket list?
I would love to be on the cover of a fitness magazine and start my own health food business one day!
Favorite form of cardio?
I love/hate the stair master. Also love hiking!
What is the most challenging thing you deal with about consistently staying in top shape?
The most challenging thing is avoiding junk food, especially sweets. I still treat myself from time to time though! It’s all about moderation!
What is your own definition of happiness?
Waking up with a smile on my face because I’m surrounded by people (and animals) I love and have a career that I love.
What is your favorite song to belt out in the car/for karaoke?
Oh gosh, I love early 2000’s rap and hip hop! haha!
Name one your strengths?
I feel my biggest strength is my persistence. My refusal to give up on my goals and dreams.
Do you support any charity?
I support many animal rescue groups! A few of my favorites are New Life Animal Sanctuary, Priceless Pets Rescue, and Sleepy Pig Farm!
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
My perfect Sunday includes going to church, hiking, laying out at the beach/pool and eating acai bowls with my husband and friends!
What do you think of Social Media?
Social media is a great way to connect with likeminded people, share your story and make some money! It can also be a very dark place. It’s what you make it!
