Hi Cara, please tell us a little about you?
I have been working as a full time influencer for the past decade after graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Women’s Studies and after working as a Senior Buyer for several years. I have had some amazing experiences including winning Harper’s Bazaar Fabulous at Every Age Contest, attending Cannes Film Festival, Coachella and Couture and Fashion Week as well as Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and have had the opportunity to work with amazing brands including Revolve, Chanel, BHLDN, Needle and Thread and more. I have traveled the globe and shot campaigns for hotels and brands from Greece to Thailand to Mexico and everywhere in between. I am married to my amazing husband Zach and we have a little baby girl named Emmy and I continue to share my fashion, travel and lifestyle via CaraJourdan.com / @CaraJourdan.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Happy, Adventurer, Loving
Who has made the biggest impact on your life so far, and why?
My Family! They put life in perspective (Love, Friends & Family are the most important things) while also giving me drive to succeed and push myself to achieve my goals and dreams.
How and when did you start into modeling?
I am not really a “model” but I started blogging (before Instagram existed!) over 10 years ago – I have been the face of campaigns for Jackson Rowe & Gentle Fawn and have had many of my images used for advertisements with many of the brands I have worked with, so technically I suppose you could say 10 years.
What is fun and rewarding about modeling? And what is not?
It is a 24/7 job, and you must always be “on”! It can be tough to manage your own business and schedule but at the same time, that is the lovely part about the job, too…Being your own boss and working hard to achieve your goals.
Can you name a few of the brands you are working or have worked with?
Victoria’s Secret, Revolve, Moet, Four Seasons, Chanel, BHLDN.
What did you learn from your biggest failure?
I am constantly failing and learning! Just because you make a mistake doesn’t mean your a bad person, it just teaches you something for the future. I am constantly told “no” from brands but it just makes me push harder! You can do anything you set your mind to and work hard for.
The most important thing when you are shooting is?
Being comfortable and having fun! I get energy when I am shooting, and it is an extra special treat when the lighting, outfits and mood all align and you know you are getting good content – It is the best!
What’s your advice for the newer models and influencers?
Just keep going! There is room for all.
How did you get started into the social media business?
I was working full time as a buyer and started meeting influencers as I traveled to Fashion Week’s for work – I thought, how cool! I started a blog and taking my own photos and it blossomed from there.
What mindsets helped making you so successful and popular?
You have to work to see success! I work all the time, non stop – There aren’t really holidays or vacation or anything like that in this industry. The time you put in really shows.
When you started your Social Media accounts, did you expected such a success?
No! It was a hobby for me when I started – I was working a full time job at the time.
As a popular model and influencer you are followed by so many people. How do you feel about that pressure of doing always the right thing, and encourage people to follow their dreams?
I see social media as a place to share our happy, dreamy moments – But I do hope everyone knows that it is the best curated content, that we are sharing, and that everyone struggles sometimes. I do try and share posts from time to time reflecting that, as I want people to know that I cry, I am stressed, I am tiered and so on – But most of all I hope my followers come to my page to be inspired and to get excited to achieve their own goals.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
The Four Hour Work Week
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
Be smarter with money! It is never too early to start saving.
What would say are the greatest lessons you learned so far?
Be kind, work hard, treat others as you would like to be treated & no one is going to do the work for you – You will do it if you put the effort in!
Which project is still on your bucket list?
More family travel (really want to go to Kenya) build a dream home, attend more festivals and events to share with audience (the Oscars would be a dream!)
What’s next for Cara Jourdan Clare in 2022?
More travel & adventure, incorporating fashion & beauty & family & fitness into it all!
Please describe a typical day for you. What is your daily routine like?
Wake up, feed baby, eat breakfast, work (emails/film content), snack, feed baby (this is a lot right now!!) perhaps go on photo shoot if that is scheduled for that day, or plan a trip – Workout, make dinner, chill with family.
Favorite form of cardio?
Running/Swimming
What is the most challenging thing you deal with about consistently staying in top shape?
Oh I love to eat, and have a sweet tooth! For me it is about balance, and feeling strong and healthy rather than “skinny’
Now talking about Instagram, can you share some tips for keeping your account interesting?
I love looking at vintage magazines and ad campaigns for inspiration, as well as Pinterest – I always try to be creative when it comes to photos, so just trying new positions or outfits or locations – not being shy, and Having fun with it!
What is your own definition of happiness?
If you can live a life where you feel loved, and get to love – If you can enjoy nature and have a home that lets you feel cozy and safe – These things are happiness to me!

What do you think of Social Media?
I think it has many plus’s but can be difficult, especially for the younger generation. Please remember everyone – Not everything on social is real! YOU are amazing just the way you are.
