Check out our interview with talented country-pop music artist Leah Marie Mason who just released her new single “Tears Into Diamonds.”
Leah is blazing into the country scene even further following her exclusive signings with Warner Chappell Music Publishing and SONY/ATV The Orchard. This new single was written by Grammy-nominated Blake Hubbard and Jarrod Ingram (Mickey Guyton), and BMG’s Claire Douglas.
“‘Tears into Diamonds’ was written with Claire Douglas and The720. This record is essentially a “f*** you” to the ex that doesn’t deserve the time day. To me this song is all about realizing your self worth and coming to the realization that you deserve better. We all deserve the best for ourselves.”

Hi Leah, please tell us a little about you?
Hi! I’m 23 years old and I’m originally from Cary, NC. I have two older brothers, 27 & 26, and I just recently graduated from Belmont University with a degree in Songwriting.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Loyal, emotional, caring
We’re sure you have been asked this million times but how did you get in the industry?
I first started performing when I was around 10 years old in a 70’s rock cover band with my older brother and I was hooked right then, I knew I wanted to be on stage for the rest of my life!
How has this changed your life?
If it hadn’t been for that time of my life, I wouldn’t be where I am today. It’s what inspired me to he a performer and a songwriter and I’m so grateful I was able to have those experiences at such a young age.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Personal, lyrical, spacey
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
I’ve been inspired by so many different musicians throughout my life, but I would say the top people that influence the music I make would be Kacey Musgraves, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lana Del Rey.
Do you play any instrument?
Yes, a little bit of guitar!
Do you ever get nervous?
Yes for sure, but mostly it stems from excitement
Tell us about your new single “Tears Into Diamonds?”
Claire Douglas, one of my co writers on the song, had the tears into diamonds line in her phone and right when she said it I was like, “yep that’s the one, that’s what we’re writing to today.” Once we had the concept it felt like the song was just writing itself. I mean there’s so many lines that didn’t even make the song that are just so good. Personally I think it’s the most well written song I’ve put out and I’m excited to show my listeners this side of me more!
What’s the story behind the song?
Cheaters. Cheaters that think they can just pick up the phone and a few “i’m sorrys” can fix everything. This song was my way of basically saying fuck off if you think that will actually make me get back with you. I want other girls to hear this and feel like they’re taking back the power that a cheater tried to take from them.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
I would say people connecting with my music. Every message I get means so much to me and all I want in the world is for people to feel something when they listen to what I make.
What would you say are the greatest lessons you learned so far?
I think staying true to who you are is super important. Being on social media and comparing yourself too much to others can really get in the way of that. It’s really important to me that I maintain authenticity. I don’t care about being an overnight success, I want to build a real career that will actually last.
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
Make the music you love. Don’t make music for the purpose of notoriety or to fit in a certain mold. You are special and you should own that!
How would your best friend describe you?
Sarcastic, creative, emotional
If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
Beauty in the Chaos
What’s next for Leah Marie Mason in the last months of 2022?
I have a few more things I want to do before the year ends, and I’m planning an October release for a song I’m very excited about!!
What is your favorite healthy food?
I love salads, any kind.
And your favorite cheat food?
A burger for sure.
How would you explain your fashion style?
I think my style changes every day, but I would say girly with an edge!
What is your own definition of happiness?
Being fulfilled creatively and in my personal relationships
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I would love to meet Elvis Presley, I feel like he’s a perfect example of someone that was so talented but lost his authenticity because of the people around him. I’d just like to learn more about his life and how he got to such a low point
What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?
I would love to visit the countryside of France, and I would take my boyfriend, it’s so beautiful there and for me it’s the epitome of romance!
Best advice ever given?
Make music that makes you happy!
Do you support any charity?
I love supporting women’s shelters locally, I always give when I can!
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
Hopefully headlining my own tour, and working with artists / writers I’ve always dreamed of working with
Favorite song? Why?
probably blackbird by the Beatles. It’s very nostalgic for me and I’ve always loved it.
What do you think of Social Media?
I think it’s a blessing and a curse. It’s amazing because one one hand it’s allowed me to build a fanbase and have my music reach a broader audience. It can also be so unhealthy mentally and draining. I think it’s important to have balance with it.
