Hi Lexi! Please tell us a little about yourself.
Hi! I’m Lexi (aka Love You Later)! I’m 24 years old and I’m originally from Orange County, California but now reside in Nashville, Tennessee. When I’m not writing or playing shows for my artist project, I’m hanging out with friends and family, cooking, going on walks, being outdoors, or traveling.
How would you describe yourself in 3 words?
Genuine, passionate, dedicated
How did you first get into the music industry?
I started writing songs and wanted to be an artist and the industry is just something that comes with it. I started becoming serious about music in 2017 and that’s when I learned I had to immerse myself in the industry too.
How has music changed your life?
Music holds a power that nothing else does. It has the power to change your mood and alter your day. It’s very healing to me and I love the way our minds and souls gravitate towards certain melodies. It’s such a special thing.
How would you describe your sound in 3 words?
Meditative, introspective, cathartic
Do you play any instruments?
I mainly play guitar. It’s my dream to get good at piano and drums too though.
Tell us about your new single, “Are You Gonna Care When I Die.” What’s the story behind the song?
‘Are You Gonna Care When I Die?’ is a song I wrote when it felt like I was drowning in rejection from the music industry and in the real world. No one seemed to care or listen or take me seriously. I realized that the attention from these people was not worth my time or energy and ultimately did not define me. The song is a constant reminder to myself to regain my voice and power to tell my own story. It’s a song for anyone who feels insignificant and undermined.
What is the most rewarding part of making music?
Hearing the stories of fans connecting to the music and having their own personal experiences with the songs. It’s truly what keeps me going.
If you weren’t making music, what do you think you would do instead?
I’d probably be an aesthetician because I really love all things skin related.
What would you say are the greatest lessons you’ve learned so far?
I’ve learned that it’s more fulfilling to have a slow and steady climb rather than an overnight success. It builds character and strengthens parts of you that wouldn’t be strengthened otherwise.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Do it for yourself and don’t waste your energy caring what other people think because you can’t please everyone. It’s not worth it. That’s basically what the song is about.
How would your best friend describe you?
I think my best friend would describe me as passionate, hardworking, genuine, and sometimes a lil crazy.
What’s next for Love You Later in 2023?
My EP, ‘From The Window Seat’ drops May 5th and I’ll be playing shows in Nashville, NYC, and LA to celebrate that release. I’ll be playing the whole EP plus more. I’m super excited!
How would you describe your fashion style?
I feel like this changes everyday, lol but my style is usually very 90s influenced. I’m a tee shirt, light wash jeans, and sneakers kind of girl most days.
What is your own definition of happiness?
My definition of happiness is being content with the current circumstances and finding joy and gratitude is everything. Knowing that I can’t change the past or the future and all I have control of is my perspective of the present.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I’d love to meet Dolly Parton because she’s such an influential female and artist. She’s had so much success and she’s such a badass, hardworking woman that has paved the way for many female artists.
Best advice you’ve ever been given?
It’s all about timing. And everything will happen how it’s meant to. There’s no use in trying to force what’s already been decided in your fate.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
I’d love to be traveling the world playing shows but also have a good enough balance to where I can be home with my family and friends. I‘d love to be able to live comfortably and feel like all of my work has paid off and will continue to flourish.

Favorite Travel Destination: Oh man, this is hard. From the places I’ve been so far, Hawaii is definitely my favorite. But I have been dying to go to Europe.
Favorite Sports Team: I don’t really pay much attention to sports but I always grew up watching Yankees games because my dad is from NJ and also USC football. So I still root for those teams!
