The Ned NoMad celebrated their one year anniversary in NYC, hosted by hotelier Richie Akiva
On June 8th, 2023, The Ned NoMad, Richie Akiva’s brainchild with Ron Burkle and the Soho House Family, rejoiced in its first anniversary. The night was magical and was orchestrated by Richie Akiva himself. The celebrations commenced with Moet Chandon champagne flowing generously, and a gastronomic adventure that included caviar, oysters, lobster rolls, and a plethora of assorted appetizers that featured the culinary talents of The Ned’s chefs. Gold-themed balloons, delicate metallic curtains, and disco ball embellishments adorned the ceiling as jazz musicians serenaded the arriving guests. Dancers dressed in elaborate costumes reminiscent of the 1920s Ziegfeld Follies, with champagne-colored dresses, sparkling gold attire, and opulent headgear, gracefully moved through the crowd and performed atop platforms.
Situated in the historic NoMad district, The Ned NoMad is a hybrid of a hotel and membership club. The anniversary celebrations were held across multiple areas, including the main club atrium, The Library, The Dining Room, and the main bar. The night concluded in The Magic Room, which was brimming with energy. Revelers were immersed in a sensational atmosphere with copious drinks, stimulating music, and an effervescent dance floor that was alive throughout the night. The celebrations were punctuated with unanticipated performances by legendary hip-hop artists, Fabolous and Ja Rule, introduced and hosted by Akiva at his chic establishment. The Ned’s resident humorist, Mike Young, entertained with a special comedy act that featured appearances by late-night sensations Ryan Reiss, Jourdain Fisher, and Sam Woolf. Following the comedy, the audience was spellbound by magician Elliot Zimet, whose white dove act had birds materializing and vanishing with finesse.
An illustrious crowd graced the event, including Mayor Eric Adams, Ja Rule, Fabolous, Fat Joe, Famke Janssen, Julianne Hough, Giancarlo Stanton of NY Yankees, Davis Burleson, Lexi Wood, Kaylee Russelman, Shea Marie, Fatima Cuellar, Madeline Danzberger, Khadija Cherkani, Christa B. Allen, Imaan Hammam, Rachel Winters, Elliot Zimet, Mike Young, Jourdain Fisher, Sam Woolf, Jus Ske, Bloody Dior, Bloody Osirus, Badius, Fish Money, Michael Braun, Helly Nahmad, Shawn Pecas, Jason Binn, TJ Atoms, Jeremey Tahari, Sergio Farias, Honey Bxby, and Giveon, among numerous others. The night also featured assorted DJs, with DJ Stacks wrapping up the after-party in The Magic Room.
