Hi Caitlynne, please tell us a little about you?
My name is Caitlynne Curtis I’m a mother to a beautiful son and an artist. My parents moved me to Nashville when I was a little kid to peruse my dream of being country music star. I’ve been singing since I was 6 years old and in 2020 Struggle Jennings signed me to his independent label “Angels and Outlaws”. Since then we got a Billboard number one record called “God We Need You Now” and since then we’ve been working hard and creating more music! I spend most of my time either in the gym or the studio if I’m not on tour.
Do you ever get nervous?
I used to get so nervous when I would go to auditions but the first time I stepped on stage to just perform, without any fear of a yes or no from a judge, it just felt so calming.
Tell us about your new single “Where You Left Off?”
“Where You Left Off” is my first country single! I wrote this for my dad to release on Fathers Day weekend!
What’s the story behind the song?
Growing up I had to watch my dad give up his dreams to raise me and my siblings. My dad was a semi pro hockey player, the best goalie there was in my opinion! He also draws comic book art and is so talented but never perused it. It hurt to see him give that up to be a father but he did what he felt he had to do. So I wrote this song to show him that I’m picking up where he left off and his dreams are still alive and achievable.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
The fans and how they connect to my music and life. Watching them use my music to heal or to relate and not feel alone in what they’re going through.
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
Never give up girl!! there might be moments where things seem too far out of reach but if you never quit you can achieve anything!
What is your favorite healthy food?
My favorite healthy food would be chicken rice and arugula. It’s so good!
And your favorite cheat food?
Pasta.. lots of pasta!
What’s next for Caitlynne Curtis in 2023?
There’s so much in store! This summer I’m opening for Jelly Roll on the “Backroad Baptism Tour” on 14 dates but will be appearing on all of them while performing with Struggle Jennings! As well as releasing new Country singles in preparation for my very first Country album releasing in 2024!!!! I’m so excited to be on this journey and thankful for all the opportunities I’ve been given. Can’t wait for y’all to hear my new music!
