Describe yourself in 3 words?
Extroverted Introverted Tacos
How did you get started into acting?
I started doing church plays and I was so so shy! Later I had the opportunity to explore acting in Highschool with my incredible Acting Teacher Linda Garvin. She recently passed away but inspired many students to be brave, creative, and empathetic. Love you, miss you, and thank you Ms. Garvin!
How has this changed your life?
Being able to read people for who they are rather than the front they put on helps make life feel more genuine.
What is the best and worst part of being an actress?
The best part, free food. The worst part, the free food.
How do you prepare for a role?
A lot of prep starts before I even book a job in the audition room. Bringing that character to life involves finding the parts of me that are most relatable to the character and amplifying them to match what is on the page. It’s so fun once you bring that role to set and collaborate with the director, writers, hair, makeup, and wardrobe! It truly is a team effort.
Tell us about your work as Isabel Feathers in “Doom Patrol?”
Isabel has been a dream! She has led me to do so many things I never thought I would or could do. Stunt and wire work, Singing and dancing, as well as working with some incredibly inspiring and creative humans!
Now tell us about working in the animated film “Strays” with Jaime Foxx?
HELLO, DREAM ROLE! Having the freedom to improv, while dressed in the cutest clothing, and holding the sweetest little dog in the world was literally my dream job!
What other projects you have been part of?
I’ve been a part of some really cool projects! Some of my favorites have been independent projects. It’s an honor to be able to bring people’s passion to life.
What kind of roles do you like or would like to play and why?
I love roles with a twist that you don’t see coming. 🙂
If you weren’t acting, what would you be up to right now?
On a farm, with baby goats and chickens. Watching my dogs run and live their best life.
Which fictional character would be the most exciting to meet in real life?
Baby Yoda We’d go on adventures.
Can you name 3 actors/actresses you would love to work with?
Tina Fey, Emma Stone, Pedro Pascal
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
Getting messages from people that really connected to my character. Or that something I did on screen made someone laugh and brightened their day.
What’s your advice for the newer actors?
Love what you do, listen to the advice of those who have been in the industry, and take acting classes!
What would you say are the greatest lessons you learned so far in this business?
Enjoy your life. There is more to life than booking the next job. Also to be extremely flexible. Nothing is ever promised.
How would your best friend describe you?
Anxious, Silly, Doesn’t text back very well
Her actual answer: Effervescent, inventive, driven
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
Nobody is perfect. Don’t let the haters get you down. You look cute in your glasses and bangs. Don’t worry about the cool boy in class not noticing you, in a few years you won’t notice him. Be yourself; she is beautiful, hilarious, and smart!
