Describe yourself in 3 words.
Driven, Kind, Bubbly!
How did you get started in acting?
I’ve always loved performing from a young age – I started in dance classes at the age of 5, eventually found my love for theatre, and became drawn to the film industry after high school. It’s been an evolution for me! I love how acting in film allows you to play and try a scene in many different ways. I also just really enjoy being on set and the filmmaking process as a whole!
How has your career as an actor changed your life?
Acting has given me the ability to face rejection. I think getting used to rejection can be a good thing because it makes you less scared of putting yourself out there. It also puts me in a more empathetic mindset, as every day, I’m putting myself in the shoes of different people from different walks of life.
How do you prepare for a role?
Typically, the first bit of preparation comes during the audition process. I start by reading the character breakdown, if I’m lucky, the full script, and then the sides. I do scene and script analysis on the character and their circumstances. And when I book the role and have more time, I read the script several more times to make additional discoveries! Some roles require more preparation – for example, accents, period pieces or biopics, characters with unique quirks or physical characteristics, etc.
What roles would you like to play and why?
I love YA dramas like the ones on CW or Freeform. They are my guilty pleasure, so that would be a fun jumping-off point for me! But I love limited series dramas like Little Fires Everywhere or The Act. And, of course, being the lead in a Hollywood blockbuster would be a DREAM! Ultimately, I want to start my own production company – producing the kind of content I want to see in the world and working with my incredibly talented and inspiring friends.
If you weren’t acting, what would you be up to right now?
I think my life would be different in a lot of ways if I didn’t find acting! I would probably be living a much less “risky” life. I probably wouldn’t have had the courage to have moved so far from home, and if I had to guess, maybe I would work in marketing or a more “stable” but still creative career path. But I’m so happy I’ve trusted my gut this far and am pursuing my dreams. I’m enjoying the journey and living life with no regrets!
Can you name three actors/actresses you would love to work with?
There are so many! But the first two that come to mind are Viola Davis and Bryan Cranston – I’m a big fan of both and recently read their biographies, so it would be super cool to get to know them and work with them. Also, Rachel Redleaf, my best friend! We work so well together, and it would be SO fun to show up to set every day and work with my bestie.
How would your best friend describe you?
Let me ask her and see! Copied from a text: “Silly, kind, anxious, an incredible friend, loyal, perfectionist, hard worker.”
What is your favorite song to belt out in the car/for karaoke?
Anything Lizzo or Taylor Swift!
