Check out our interview with talented model, singer and actress Izabellah Diez who is best known for her lead role in Run This Town, a movie series airing on Tubi TV as well as Nickelodeon commercials for Barbie and Twozies.
She has a co-starring role in Gacy: Terror in Suburbia and the lead role in My Father’s Fiance, both which will be released in 2023. Other notable roles are in the short film Famous, a music video for Ali Gate and Massari, and the humanitarian project I See the Dream for the World Food Programme. At the end of 2022, Izabellah released a cover of Jingle Bell Rock along with the music video. As a model, she has worked for such brands as Young Gods Clothing, Miss Behave Girls, Jimmy Crystal NY, and Wren and Glory along with gracing the runways at NYFW for House of Barretti and Chic NY.

How did you get started into acting?
I attended an acting class a few years ago to try something different and fell in love with acting.
How has this changed your life?
It has changed my life in many different ways. I have made a whole new group of friends that are like family. It has helped me learn how to be an entrepreneur, that I did not think I could do being a teenager.
What is the best and worst part of being an actress?
The best part of being an actress is creating new characters. The worst part is when you are done filming the project.
How do you prepare for a role?
How I prepare for a role is when I receive the script I go through and read it, study the script, get coaching then start to prepare how I want the character I am playing to be.
Tell us about your lead role in Tubi TV “Run This Town?”
My role in “Run this Town” was a flashback of one of the leads. She was a troubled teen who makes friends with a group of kids that run the town.
How did you get the role and how challenging was the casting?
I got the role through an auditioning process. The casting challenge is the worry if you are portraying the character the way the director sees it.
My role in Gacy; Terror in Suburbia was Gacy (who is going around killing What other projects you have been part of?
I have another movie that is in the process. I cannot wait to share more details and I will when I can.
What kind of roles do you like or would like to play and why?
I love roles that I can dive into and be dramatic. I find them the most challenging.
If you weren’t acting, what would you be up to right now?
If I were not acting now, I would be cheering. Actually, I have found a way to balance both acting and cheering. I have been cheering since I could walk.
Which fictional character would be the most exciting to meet in real life?
I think the fictional character that would be most exciting to meet would be Barbie. I love her ambition for women to be their best in life.
Can you name 3 actors/actresses you would love to work with?
I would love to work with Sofia Vergara (Modern Family, Margot Robbie (Barbie Movie) and Tom Holland (Spider-man).
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
The most rewarding part of my work is the finished product. Getting to see what I helped create on the big screen.
What’s your advice for the newer actors?
The best advice I would have for new actors is to study hard and do not ever give up on your dreams. Don’t let people tell you that you can’t do something. Because you can if you set your mind to it.
What would you say are the greatest lessons you learned so far in this business?
The greatest lesson I have learned is patience. Sometimes you are told no, and you may never know why it was a no. But patience comes when you wait for the yes that you have booked the job. So don’t get discouraged.
How would your best friend describe you?
My friends say they can be their true selves around me, without judgement. Always a good time.
If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
If I were a book the title would be Mi Loca Vida!
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
The advice I would give to my younger self is just to live life every day. Have fun and make the most of every day!
What’s next for Izabellah Diez in 2023?
Next for me is always cheer. I am on my high school team. I also am on my competition cheer team. I also have another movie that is in the beginning stages.
What is your favorite healthy food?
My favorite healthy foods are cherry tomatoes, cucumbers & black olives. Those are all my all-time favorite snacks.
And your favorite cheat food?
My favorite cheat foods are Cheetos, Hot Fries, and Tootsie Rolls
What is your own definition of happiness?
My definition of happiness is just being a good person, doing the right things and living life to the fullest every day.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
If I could meet someone dead or alive it would be Robin Williams, I think he was such an amazing and funny actor. I feel he gave so much of himself to the public. He is one of the legends for sure.
Best advice ever given?
Best advice I have ever given is to just be yourself and to live life to the fullest.
Do you support any charity?
Yes, I am a big supporter of The Shea Center. It’s a therapeutic riding center for people with disabilities. For my 14th birthday, we did a joint celebration with The Shea Center and I donated all my birthday gifts totaling $15,000 to the charity.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
I see myself in 5 years working making movies through my production company Magic Camera Production.
What is your favorite song to belt out in the car/for karaoke?
My favorite song right now is “Tennessee Orange” by Megan Moroney.
What do you think of Social Media?
I think social media can be fun if you are posting things that are good. Social media is a necessity in today’s world for sure.
