Hi Bella, please tell us a little about you?
I’m a Swedish half Jamaican professional model that travels all around the world and has more than 10 years experience. Yes, people call me an influencer aswell but I prefer to have the title “Model”. Despite now being a brand ambassador for Fashion Nova that has over 20 million followers on their social media, so I’m really excited for that and grateful.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Driven, Confident , outgoing
Who has made the biggest impact on your life so far, and why?
Except my Mum and Dad I must say David Goggins. He is a former Navy seal and one of the strongest men on the planet. If it wasn’t for him I can’t see myself being alive today. I found out about him when I needed a wake up call. He helped me change my whole mindset. In the industry I work in u have to have a lot of backbone and be mentally really strong to not lose yourself as you are being judged everyday based on ur looks and personality. It’s not as glamorous as you may think or as easy. It takes so much hard work behind the scenes but it is so worth it when it is your passion.
How and when did you start into modeling?
As a kid I wanted to be a football or handball pro. I played sports for 10 years, as well as attending a sports school. My life shifted when I was visiting my Dad at 12 years old in London I was discovered by a model agent who worked for Select Model management so being signed at that age I just felt I wasn’t ready. I couldn’t speak English well at all at that age and I was focusing at sports as I was really good in it. Of course I always watched America’s next top model and looked up to Tyra Banks as a kid but it wasn’t til I turned 16 that i really wanted to take up modeling again. I then got signed in America and the rest is history.
You have been in some of the top magazines in the world and with well-known brands. Please tell us about it.
They say u haven’t been a model if u haven’t been in Vogue so thankfully I have been lucky to be featured there. Alongside Vogue, I was also in Elle, which is one of the biggest magazines in the world. All from being in big music videos to walk in Project Runway and shooting for Make-up brands like : Mary Kay, Laura Mercier, Shishedo and the list goes on.
What did you learn from your biggest failure?
To be honest I don’t even look at it as failure no more. I been having so many setbacks that is mind blowing that I never gave up. But from my “mistakes” or “failure” I learn who I am and what I stand for. I’ve learned how to have a mindset stronger than feelings and that has saved me every-time. I also learned that to have different results and to live the life of your dreams u can’t keep doing the same things and except another outcome.
What mindsets helped making you so successful and popular?
Everyone that knows me would tell u that my mindset is very very strong. I train my mind daily the same I would train in the gym. it’s the most important thing for me to have a strong mindset. I don’t let anything on the outside change how I feel inside. If u find out who u are u don’t need anyone else to tell u who u are. And u don’t let things get to u. I never take anything personal today and that is the key to a happy life.
When you started your Social Media accounts, did you expected such a success?
The truth is yes, I’ve always been into visualization so I have visualised this many times before. Everything I have today I’ve been seeing in my mind before I got it in my hand. Also, being in tv shows contributed to my success.
Please describe a typical day for you. What is your daily routine like?
I like to have structure so I always stick to daily routines. I believe having a routine is the foundation of living a healthy life and being successful. My routine consists of working out, meditations yoga and pilates. I also enjoy running and cycling. To be honest I like to try new things in my routine that will help excel me and keep my mind, body and spirit in alignment. I push myself really hard in my day, and keep those who close and dear to me who are positive assets in my life and we motivate each other to stick to our routines!
What is your own definition of happiness?
Happiness for me is to have a healthy family, and it’s also important to have a meaningful life, which comes by finding your purpose in life that fulfils you and doing that everyday.
Whatever makes u happy do that because at the end of the day happiness is everything the only thing we truly need.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
2pac , I think he is one of a kind. His music is so deep and I like what he stands for. If u know me you know that I love hiphop.
What do you think of Social Media?
I think it’s really really smart to have if u want to be seen. For me its been helping me get a lot of agencies and work. I know it can be too much sometimes but u just have to use it smartly.
What’s next for Bella Davis in 2023?
I have so many ideas for the future I can not wait for what’s coming for me. I feel more ready than ever and more focused than ever. I grew up in a town with 25k people living there, and no one expects you to make it out of it. That just shows that nothing is impossible in life and the sky is the limit. I never got anything handed to me. I just worked really hard for what I have today and it’s paid off.
