Hi Alta, please tell us a little about you?
I’m Alta, a 21-year-old passionate about the performing arts. I’ve been recognized as an America-First Scholar athlete, a title I hold due to my dedication to both athletics and academics, as well as my commitment to serving the community. On social media, I’ve been fortunate to create a vibrant community of over 2 million followers on TikTok, 550,000 on Instagram, and 250,000 subscribers on YouTube.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Passionate, focused, and creative!
How did you get started into acting?
At a young age, I started by attending acting intensives and studios. As a young girl, my passion for acting really sparked after attending Broadway shows in NYC.
How do you prepare for a role?
Preparing for a role is truly a deep dive; it’s about making the character’s experiences real for myself, drawing from my own life while infusing imagination to fully embody the role. Essentially, it’s a journey to discover where the character lives within me.
Now let’s talk about dancing. When did you start dancing?
I started dancing at 3 years old, and it was instantly something I fell in love with! I began my training at a local dance studio and later honed my skills in the Professional Training Division at Ballet West.
Any advice for aspiring dancers?
Pour love and passion into each move. If it makes you happy, keep going, embrace the challenges, and let passion be your guide.
What do you love most about dancing?
What I love most about dancing is the amazing feeling it gives me. I just lose myself in the music and moves, and it’s like nothing else matters in that moment. It’s just pure happiness.
What type of dance do you like best?
It’s really hard to pick just one favorite since I’ve trained in a wide variety of dance styles, each bringing out unique aspects of my personality and allowing me to express a spectrum of emotions.
What is fun and rewarding about modeling? And what is not?
I love modeling for the thrill of runway shows and being part of someone’s creative vision, seeing a project come to life from start to finish. The job comes with its pressures, such as maintaining a specific look, but the experiences and excitement of the work make it all worthwhile.
The most important thing when you are shooting is?
Simply to be myself, and let my personality shine through.
Are there any specific artists who inspire you and have influenced your own work?
I’ve been influenced by a mix of artists. To name a few: Gene Kelly, Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Selena Gomez, Meryl Streep, Vera-Ellen and many others.
Do you ever get nervous?
Absolutely. I do get nervous at times, but I’ve learned to turn those nerves into excitement. To me, feeling nervous means that I truly care about what I’m doing, so I like to channel this energy and turn it into something positive.
How have your mindsets contributed to your journey and growth in your career?
I believe strongly in the idea that everything happens for a reason. Each setback teaches me something new and brings me a step closer to achieving my goals. Maintaining a mindset of learning and growth has been key to my journey.
When you started your Social Media accounts, did you expected such a success?
No, this took me by surprise. I began my social media journey simply wanting to share my passions and explore my creative side. It was all about having fun and spreading positivity. I believe that genuine positive energy is what resonated with people and helped build my community.
If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
If I were a book, I’d title it “Love the Process.” I’m driven every day by my passion to learn, train, and improve. This title captures my commitment to stay positive and persevere, no matter what challenges I may face.
Please describe a typical day for you. What is your daily routine like?
My days are filled with passion and discipline. I spend countless hours training in dancing, singing, and acting, as I believe there’s always something new to learn and ways to improve. And though it’s hard work, I love every moment of it and wouldn’t have it any other way!
What is your favorite food?
My favorite food lately has been oatmeal. I know it may sound a bit plain, but I really enjoy getting creative with it. I love experimenting with healthy toppings, and my go-to choices recently have been a mix of cinnamon, banana, blueberries, and almonds. It’s so yummy, and it gives me lots of energy!
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Gene Kelly is my top pick, not just for his lively dancing but also for his singing and acting. I really connect with his vibrant performance style. If I could, I’d love to meet him and learn firsthand how he combined all these talents so seamlessly, picking up a few dance moves in the process. He’s a true multi-talented legend, and his legacy continues to influence my own artistic journey.
Do you support any charity?
I am currently donating to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and love sending personal notes/messages to patients weekly. I believe that it’s extremely important to give back and make a positive impact on the world, and I’m happy to have the opportunity to do that through St. Jude.
