Check out our interview with model, comedian, podcast host, actor, and newly minted reality star Marco DelVecchio who is the breakout heartthrob making waves on the current season of hit dating competition show FBOY ISLAND, which has it’s season finale on this Friday, December 8th (8pm ET/PT) on the CW. Marco navigates a love-mind field as he competes against self-proclaimed “FBoys” to win the heart of a young lady and possibly prove the old adage “nice guys always finish last” wrong.
When he’s not competing for hearts, DelVeccio is hosting his own hit podcast, SMOOCHIE TOWN where he interviews icons of pop culture, including his most recent guest, Jax Taylor of “Vanderpump Rules” acclaim, getting them to reveal juicy exclusives, such as fellow “FBOY Island” star Garrett Morosky’s reveal that he slept with not one but two “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” stars.
Marco can also be seen in a speaking role in Camila Cabello’s music video “Havana, which has over 1 BILLION views on YouTube, making it one of the most watched music videos ever.

Hi Marco, please tell us a little about yourself.
I am an actor, comedian, podcaster, son, brother, uncle, and all-around fun guy.
Describe yourself in 3 words.
Genuine, hilarious, and charismatic.
How and when did you start modeling?
I started modeling between high school and college in Tampa, Florida, and my first job was for a sports catalog.
What is fun and rewarding about modeling? And what is not?
The money and workload are pretty rewarding; however, the lack of substance is not.
Can you name a few of the brands you are working with or have worked with?
Nike, True Classic, Fresh Clean Threads, and my full résumé can be found online.
What is the most important thing when you are shooting?
The camera will capture however you feel at the moment so remember to feel as sexy as possible.
What’s your advice for the newer models and influencers?
Take every opportunity given, because you never know who you will meet from it or where the outcome of the shoot will take you.
How did you get started in acting?
I played the UPS Guy in Legally Blonde the Musical at prep school, and I fell in love with performing and I knew it was my calling.
How has this changed your life?
It’s changed my life because of the jobs I’ve booked, the people that I’ve met, and the experiences I’ve been able to have while performing.
What is the best and worst part of being an actor?
The best part is feeling vulnerable in front of people. It’s very enlightening; however, the worst part is waiting around until your time to shoot is up.
How do you prepare for a role?
I do a lot of research on the expository information of the play/movie/tv show/director/writer and I try to put myself in the character’s shoes and think like they do.
What projects you have been part of?
Can be found online, but my favorite project was probably Camila Cabello’s love interest in her music video for “Havana.”
What kind of roles do you like or would like to play and why?
I’d love to play a superhero or a football player on a TV show similar to Friday Night Lights.
Which fictional character would be the most exciting to meet in real life?
Definitely, Buzz Lightyear.
Can you name three actors or actresses you would love to work with?
Ryan Reynolds, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Jennifer Aniston.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
To work with some of the most creative people in the world and sharing your experiences with them.
What’s your advice for the newer actors?
Don’t be afraid to look silly. Ever.
Now tell us about the dating competition show “FBOY ISLAND?”
FBOY Island is essentially 24 guys going after 3 girls, and throughout a series of dates, mixers, and eliminations, the girls have to decide who is an f-boy and who is a nice guy, and there is ultimately money on the line.
What is different about this show from others on the market?
Essentially, it is a sarcastic reality show where it points fun at actual dating shows. The funny isn’t in the cast getting drunk and saying outlandish things, but rather in the writing and chemistry amongst the cast themselves.
How was the casting for this?
I was contacted via Instagram saying I would be perfect for the show and that I should apply and after a two-month process, I was told the good news!
What would you say are the greatest lessons you learned so far in this business?
Learn to be comfortable with failure.
How would your best friend describe you?
Funny, hilarious, comedic, beautiful, caring, outgoing, but most importantly, humble.
If you were a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
The Art of the Charm.
What advice would you give to your younger self, and why?
Don’t care what anyone else thinks. As long as you believe you’re going to make it, you will.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie.
What’s next for Marco DelVecchio in the last months of 2023 and for 2024?
Continuing to develop my podcast, as well as book comedy shows and hopefully a few more commercials.
What is your favorite healthy food?
A nice big salad, specifically from Sweetgreen.
And your favorite cheat food?
Well done, pepperoni pizza.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Pursuing exactly what you want in life and not caring what anyone else thinks.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Easily Ryan Reynolds, because I respect his hustle and work ethic so much, as well as his innate talent and comedic sense of humor.
Best advice ever given?
Whenever you’re in a sticky situation or feel bad about something, ask yourself, “Will this matter a year from now?”

Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
Touring the world on a comedy tour as well as acting in a hit sitcom.
What is your favorite song to belt out in the car/for karaoke?
Any song by NSYNC or The Backstreet Boys.
What do you think of Social Media?
I think it’s a great tool for connecting and business in the entertainment industry however it also can be too distracting and judgmental.
