Before Chase Sapphire Presents Leon Bridges Headlining Concert at The Marquis Park City, ChefDance Social Started With The Feast Of Good Fortune, Featuring Candy Pop Butterfinger.
ChefDance Social sponsored a dinner party to kick off the Sundance Film Festival on January 18th before Leon Bridges‘ Chase Sapphire-presented presentation at The Marquis Park City with LNE Presents to debut ‘The Premiere Series’. Chef Shawn McClain, a James Beard Award winner, and local Executive Chef Jordan Harvey launched ChefDance Social as a permanent restaurant concept at the event.
The premiere dinner’s “Feast of Good Fortune” menu honored ChefDance Social creator Mimi Kim’s birthday and the Year of the Dragon with exquisite Italian dishes. Dessert was ChefDance pastry chef Jessie Rae’s Candy Pop Butterfinger Popcorn Panna Cotta.
Pastry chef Jessie Rae is a Park City veteran. She joined Montage Deer Valley’s opening pastry team in Park City after attending Utah Valley University’s culinary school. Rae cooked and ran a bread and pastry program at a tiny island seafood restaurant in Alaska seasonally. Park City restaurants like Stein Eriksen have employed her to make desserts and pastries.
Rae adds, “Candy Pop’s Butterfinger popcorn flavor is in the panna cotta. Within and as garnish. The dish is an eggless dairy custard made with gelatin, flavored with butter, Candy Pop popcorn, and Butterfinger.”
After the multi-course dinner, Leon Bridges met with Chase Sapphire VIP cardholders and admirers before performing at The Marquis. The Voice contestant Ryan Innes performed many key songs at the dinner party. DJ Paul Oakenfold, F&B expert Adam Cohen, and Mimi’s husband and ChefDance co-founder Kenny Griswold attended.
Kim says of the new ChefDance Social restaurant concept’s launch: “Park City is remarkable for inhabitants and visitors. After 20 years of bringing great chefs to Park City for ChefDance, Kenny (Griswold) and I decided to create a beautiful Italian restaurant with Shawn McClain as our culinary partner. Chefs like Chef Seunghyun, whom I was privileged to invite to our kitchen, will visit throughout the year to offer a range of food and experiences. We want to give back to the community that has given us so much.”
