Famed Amalfi Coast Dining Destination Conca Del Sogno Kicks Off Winter Residency at Norah West Hollywood With VIP Dinner
Los Angeles coastal pop-up series Conca Del Sogno opened its winter residency at Norah in West Hollywood on Wednesday, January 31. Repping the legendary Nerano, Italy, restaurant and beach club, the pop-up brought guests to a Mediterranean playground with inviting candles, fresh lemons, wooden tones, neutral furniture elements, white table linens, November 2018’s natural foliage tablescapes, and the traditional Italian coastal summer playground you’d expect in a quintessential summery spot. The events span through 2024, and Dorsia is behind the five-week pop-up powering Malfy Italian Gin.
A-listers included Heather Graham, Jamie Chung, Abbie Cornish, Casey Affleck, Emile Hirsch, Adelaide Kane, Katie Cassidy, Marta Pozzan and Lasyla De Oliveira, Danny A. Abeckaser, Omer Hazen, Vincent Laresca, Georgie Flores, Diana Madison, Nichelle Hines, Amanda Kloots, Andrew Matarazzo, Mackenzie Dippman, among others; Influencers and Industry included: Dominique Schaefer, Maria Grazia Cucinotta, Hilary Shor, Cisely Saldana, Sophie Flay, George Satsidis Derek Warburton, Giuseppe Giofre, Jasmeen Ledger, Heidi De La Rosa, Matteo Salarii, Tatiana Bjork Franco, Loreen Hwang, Hannah Linderman, Amy May, Adelina Novak, Sergio Farias, Juliet Hartley, Anita Gohari, Silvia Kal, Maryam Zolghadr, Priyanka Khanna, Christina Daia, Ali Lasky, Jasmin Rosemberg, Chris Gialanella, Julien Crochet, Jonah Johnson, among others.
Sebastiani Bernardi, a restaurateur, and his wife Sofia Bernardi, who both claim to be New Yorkers but have spent most of their lives in Milan, hosted the event. Taking cues from the chef’s summer in the Mediterranean Sea in Italy, now brought to Los Angeles for a brief time by Hamra and partners, Conca restaurant served guests some of its favorites. Pomodorini all’Insalata; Parmigiana di Melanzane; Insalata di Conca; Spaghetti alla Nerano; Spaghetti Aglio, Olio e Peperoncino; Branzino al Sale; Branzino Marinato; Pollo; Cacciucco al Nero di Seppia; Taglata di Carne; Pizza with Basil, San Marzano tomatoes, and DOP mozzarella; Truffle Pizza; Almond Paste; Olive Oil Cake; and Nutella Millefoglie highlighted.
Drawing inspiration from the Amalfi Coast is the beverage program, which features a selection of offerings that incorporate several fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Some standouts from the evening included the Amalfi Negroni, comprised of Malfy Italian Gin and infused blood orange — Malfy Rosa Lemonade; Ravello; Malfy Gin Con Limone and Basil; and a signature Sgroppino served in a Copa glass with lemon sorbet and Malfy Gin Con Limone. Copious amounts of still rosé alongside the aforementioned Malfy Gin cocktails were lovingly poured, and a host of additional Conca De Sogno cocktails were assisted with a deliberate, quite-European selection of reds, whites, and Peroni Nastro Azzurro Italian Beer’s to accompany the coastal-Med menu.
