Hi Alexa, we did an interview a few years ago, but I bet you have new updates to share! Tell us what’s new.
Hi there! Yes, we did. It’s been quite some time!
Life has been crazy! Lots of travel, staying very busy, got married, and have been getting into some new hobbies recently.
From your extensive experience in the modeling industry, what advice would you give to aspiring models on navigating the challenges and opportunities within the industry?
I would say the most important thing to note is to always have your own brand backing. Make a name for yourself. If you do that, you will always have power and a good sense of your worth.
How do you prepare for a photoshoot, and what are some behind-the-scenes aspects of modeling that your followers might be surprised to learn about?
I self-tan every single week for my shoots. I also hit the gym at least 3–4 times per week. Also, eating healthy and sleeping a sufficient amount is such an important thing that people don’t realize it affects your appearance!
You’ve worked with various brands and designers throughout your career. Is there a particular project or collaboration that stands out to you, and why?
I would say anything in the realm of home decor or design. I absolutely LOVE interior design and it’s something that I’ve gotten into very heavily these past few years. It’s my true passion. I’ve recently worked with Rove Concepts; it was very exciting!
Could you share insights into how you approach personal branding and differentiation in the competitive modeling industry?
Always be yourself. I believe that TikTok has completely changed the way that influencers can brand themselves. Relatable content is the new wave. I love posting things about my life that aren’t always good, but sometimes bad or relatable to my viewers.
How do you stay current with the evolving trends in the fashion and modeling industry, and how do these trends influence your work?
I always try to study the new and ongoing trends in the social media world. It truly is always evolving. Being on top of this and studying it at least once a week is a good tip if you’re trying to stay on trend with what type of content to create.
In your journey as an entrepreneur, what has been the most challenging aspect of building and maintaining your personal brand, and how have you overcome it?
I would say the hardest or most challenging aspect would be evolving with the new trends. It seems as if there’s a new one every single week!
Can you share a pivotal moment in your entrepreneurial career that significantly influenced your path?
I would say that when TikTok came out, this significantly changed the way my content has pivoted. Whether it be vlogs, day-in-the life content, etc. This was a huge transition for influencers who were only simply posting photos on Instagram.
As someone with a successful career in modeling and influencing, what inspired you to venture into entrepreneurship, and what are the core values that drive your business decisions?
I first started modeling when I was 15. I tried getting into the best agencies, and I always thought that being with an agency was the only way to success. I was wrong. Instead, I used social media to build my own brand and pave my way to success. I think it’s important to note that you can achieve success on your own without management, that comes later.
How do you balance your professional commitments with personal time, especially given the demands of your career in modeling, influencing, and entrepreneurship?
I have this thing where I love to shut my phone off around 6pm every night. I’m on my phone ALL DAY for work, whether it be shooting content, taking calls, editing content for approval, etc. It’s so important to have that balance and realize that you need to make sure to get outside, get some exercise, and take care of your mental health.
In the fast-paced world of social media and digital influence, how do you stay authentic and true to yourself while also engaging your audience?
I always make sure to be honest with my audience about anything going on in my life, good or bad. I want them to feel like they can relate to me. I also want people to realize that what I do is a business as well.
Congratulations on your new home! What inspired the design and aesthetic of your space, and how involved were you in the design process?
Thank you so much! I’ve always been so passionate about interior design. I LOVE IT. I get really inspired by the new trends, new color schemes, and designs that I see online and on social media. I think it’s so important to love your home and make sure it’s a place you miss when you’re away from it.
Home design can be a deeply personal and creative endeavor. Are there any specific elements or themes in your home that hold special meaning to you?
I think an element of my home that speaks for me is the unique designs and wild features that I’ve built. For example, an under-the-stairs wine cellar or my see-through garage. These projects were so much fun and seeing them come to life was the best part.
Sustainability and eco-friendly practices are becoming increasingly important in home design. Have you incorporated any such elements into your new home, and if so, can you share more about them?
Absolutely! There are many ways I have incorporated these elements in my home, such as replacing a ton of lights with LED lights, using solar, recycling, cutting back water usage, etc. Anything that I can do to make a difference makes me happy.
