[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”21345″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Our interview with talented young actor on the rise Adain Bradley who can currently be seen appearing on the CW’s highly anticipated show “Riverdale.”
The teen drama series is based on the characters by Archie Comics, and explores small town life, and the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale’s wholesome façade. Adain plays Trev, a high school jock with a not so typical sensitive and caring side. “Riverdale” premiered on January 26, 2017.
When Adain is not on set, you can find him at the Staples Center where he has season tickets for the Los Angeles Clippers.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”21346″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Hi Adain please tell us a little about yourself?
Hi. I grew up in York, England. I moved to York when I was about seven and that’s where I consider home. I have an older brother and sister.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Funny, Energetic, and Grounded.
Who was your role model as a child?
For sure my dad. When he left the house every morning I had no idea where he was going. I thought he was Superman! haha
How’s a typical day in your life?
Wake up through the week, 7:30am at the latest, and go to the gym. Then I go to work. That could range anywhere from auditions, to being on set or doing an interview.
What was your first acting role?
Leroy in Bugsy Malone
Do you have or had acting classes?
Yes. I think its very important to continue to train consistently as you can.
Who has made the biggest impact on your life so far, and why?
My friend Jacob. When we were younger, he was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. We are the same age as each other within a month, and it made me realize that anything could happen to anyone.
How do you prepare for a role?
I read through the script a couple of times just so I know whats going on. Then I really try to break it down scene by scene. I also like to do as much research on the character as possible. In this case Trev is a known entity, and I needed to know of any important characteristics he may have from the comics.
Please tell us about CW’s “Riverdale” and about your character as Trev?
Riverdale to me is a classic american teen drama, but with so much depth and a dark eery undertone. Trev, although the jock/athletic type is quite sensitive and caring. I like him because he’s not the traditional jock ladies man stereotype.
What is next for Adain Bradley?
I’m not sure what I’m allowed to talk about so all i’ll say is, you’ll have to wait and see.
Who is your favorite Actor/Actress? And why?
I’m not sure because there are so many. I see someone like Matt damon who is both a phenomenal actor and writer and I think “wow, I want to be just like him” but then I see someone like Kevin Hart or Jessica Alba who, as well as being actors, are very business oriented and I say “hmm, maybe I want to be like that”
Any advice to new young actors?
If this is truly what you want to do then just go for it. don’t listen to the negativity, and don’t compare your journey to anyone else’s.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 year?
To be honest, I’m not sure! But hopefully I’ll be working off the camera as well as on. Whether that’s writing, directing, producing or all of the above. The whole creative process intrigues me.
What was the last book you read?
1984 by George Orwell
How do you stay fit?
I go to the gym four or five times a week.
What is your favorite healthy food?
Brown rice, all day every day.
And your favorite cheat food?
Dairy free cookie dough ice cream (I’m lactose intolerant so…)
What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?
I really want to go to Japan and see tokyo; but also explore smaller towns that haven’t been influenced by modern culture. I would definatly go with my family.
What do you do in your free time?
I like to go to as many live sporting events as possible but, mainly basketball.
What do you like to watch on Tv?
I don’t watch a lot of Tv but when I do I like to watch; Mr Robot, Empire, I just watched Sneaky Pete on amazon which was amazing, and of course Riverdale.
Do you support any charities?
Duchenne now. Unfortunately my best friend of 17 years was diagnosed with duchenne muscular dystrophy when he was five so, that’s very important to me.
What do you think of Social Media in the Entertainment business?
I’m very new to it so it’s hard for me to get used to but, I understand the merits of it. Fans being able to connect with you on a more personal level is great. Also, being able to use your platform to create new media or endorse product. Overall I think it’s a good thing in the entertainment business.
Best advice ever given?
If you have a plan B, then you’ll never fully commit to plan A. That doesn’t necessarily mean don’t go to school and study other things. It just means, put everything into achieving your main goal.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
Sitting down on the couch and doing nothing. Hopefully there’s a basketball game on.
Do you have a role model?
I try to make as many of my own decisions as possible, and not look at what anyone else is doing.
What’s your favorite music?
I listen to everything.
