From their break-out role as Summer Newman on The Young and the Restless (CBS) to being featured in Bon Jovi’s music video “What Do You Got,” these multitalented twins have proven themselves as incredible entertainers in every sense of the word. February 13th the girls will release their album of cover songs titled “Got You Covered” featuring covers of artists such as The Ramones, Twenty One Pilots, Weezer, The Clash, the Bay City Rollers and more. The duo learned the drums and guitar over the last 6 months to play the songs live![/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”23859″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Hi Bianca and Chiara, please tell us a little about you?
Hi I’m Bianca, I’m Chiara…and we’re the D’Ambrosio Twins.
We are 12 years old, from Malibu, California. We love animals (we have 2 dogs that are rescues and a bunny).
How did you guys get started in the business?
Since we are twins, people would stop our mom and ask if we are in the business. After hearing that for a few years she decided to have us try it out. After a few auditions we were so lucky to book our first job at 3 yrs old on The Young and the Restless, playing Summer Newman.
Did you go to music school?
No, we never went to a formal school, but we get lessons. We both play guitar and piano. Chiara drifted towards drums because she like hitting things real loud. lol
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Pop, Rock, Twins[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”23860″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
I guess our parents did. Music has always been a huge part of the D’Ambrosio household. It’s on ALL the time and EVERYWHERE you go. In the house, in the car, at the pool, under the water… just kidding. Our mom and dad love music and as far as we can remember, always played songs that just we grew up knowing. That’s how we ended up picking the songs we used in “Got You Covered”. It was pretty much songs we hear around the house.
Do you ever get nervous?
Who doesn’t! When we play or act though, that’s our job. So the nerves help play into what we are doing. Being nervous is fun too when playing music, because it gets you really energized in a way you can’t really describe.
What is your next goal as a musician?
I think to write more original songs. One of our teachers/coaches was Marko Desantis and he was in a great band called Sugarcult. While he was coaching us in learning the covers, he thought we had some great ideas and took them to the next level and thats how our current single “Young and Free” came about.[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dk2_mzxDuaU” title=”D’Ambrosio Twins – Young and Free (Video ft. “Got You Covered” are songs we grew up hearing. Songs our Mom loved (like Best Coast “Crazy For You”) to Dad’s personal favorites (Ramones “I Don’t Wanna Walk Around With You”).. to songs we thought were super cool like Ting Tings “That’s Not My Name”. They were songs we wanted to play that were songs that required drums and guitar. We love Musical.ly and stuff like that, but since we also love playing our instruments, we wanted to showcase that part too. It was so much fun recording the album.
Now tell us about your hit “That’s What Girls Do” and how was working with Grammy award winning music producer Jared Gosselin?
Jared was great. That song was a lot of fun, because we got to rap which Chiara really loves to do. We always had the chance to work with Chris La Var , from America’s Got Talent. He is an amazing free style rapper who wrote the song.
How was working on CBS hit show The Young and the Restless?
We were really young, but we remember so many fun things about working there. First of all, Michelle Stafford and Joshua Morrow played our parents. They were so nice to work with for example… the Halloween episode they gave us candy , cupcakes and a Halloween prop ! We still stay in touch with Michelle and love when we see anyone from The Young and The Restless.
What are the 3 things you can’t live without?
Our family (which include our animals), our friends and phone.
What is your favorite music artists?
We love Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Sabrina Carpenter.
Any loves other than music?
Bianca: I love acting and directing. I enjoy making home videos with Chiara and friends. I would love to be a director when I am older.
Chiara: I love acting and writing . For Christmas I asked for Final Draft and I am working on writing a pilot
Any exiting news you want to share with us?
We are going back in the studio to work on another original song. Currently in pre production on a couple of projects to start in the fall.
Best advice ever given?
From our parents, work hard, follow your dreams , never give up.
How’s a typical day in your life?
OMG… Every day is full of adventures and craziness. We have school, auditions, performances on any given day, and we love to see our friends We have been documenting our lives for fun and sharing it every Friday on YouTube in a show called A Day in the Life of the D’Ambrosio Twins. It’s a pretty accurate and unscripted entry into our days! it’s so fun to watch. It can totally be embarrassing (Bianca always says “don’t keep that in there”) -lol.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
Practicing our music, going swimming and hanging out with friends.
How do you see yourself in 5 years?
Bianca: Would love to be touring like Taylor Swift
Chiara: Would love to have a show that always me to also do my music
Who is you’re role model?
Bianca: My parents, they work very hard and always encourage us. I also have to say my rescue dog Max. I know that might sound crazy but…. he was abused as a puppy and we adopted him. Even thought he had a horrible beginning he shows so much unconditional love to us. He inspires me because no matter how mean someone is don’t react the same way and lower yourself.
Chiara: My mom, she inspires me to chase my dreams.
How would you describe your fashion style?
Bianca: More classy, basic colors
Chiara: Hipster, love crazy colors and fringe
What do you think of Social Media?
We love to be on social media to have a chance to meet people from all over the world and connect with our friends and supporters. The other side of it , it allows us to be creative too !!!

Bianca: I would love to go to Fiji, my parents went there for their honeymoon and they said it was beautiful.
Chiara: I would love to go back to Italy. We went when we were 3 years old so i don’t remember that much, but I love watching the videos and seeing all the pictures.

Bianca: NY Giants or NY Yankees because our Dad is from NY and we love watching the games with him
Chiara: LA Kings- I love going to games with the family. I love hockey, its so much fun to watch !!!!
