The Inspectors is a drama series set in Washington, D.C., that’s inspired by real-life crime cases handled by the United States Postal Inspection Service. In the series Green plays LEAD, Preston Wainwright, a college freshman who is confined to a wheelchair and is a brilliant intern at the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) crime lab. Preston was severely injured in a car accident that also claimed the life of his father, Henry Wainwright (Carlos Bernard). Now, home life and professional life collide when Preston becomes determined to join the USPIS and walk again, all while navigating his way through his freshman year of college. Preston works as an intern alongside his U.S. Postal Inspector mom, Amanda (Jessica Lundy), and together they solve crimes involving internet scams, identity and mail theft, and consumer fraud.
The Inspectors will be the only scripted drama on Saturday morning programming and the only show on network television that features a physically challenged lead character. The series strives to educate young people about making the right choices in life, encouraging open communication between kids and parents, and delivers positive messages about living with disabilities, overcoming challenges, and the power of perseverance. The show is set to premiere on CBS on October 3, 2015 at 10:30AM.
Green was born and raised in Kalamazoo, MI. He is the youngest of five children. Shortly after completing his Bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University (broadcast journalism), Green took a marketing job in Scottsdale, AZ. It did not take long for him to realize that the corporate business world was not for him. He packed up his car and made the move to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. Within a year of finding representation, Green made his network television debut on the first season of the hit ABC show How to Get Away With Murder. He has also made co-star appearances on Stalker (CBS) and The Goldbergs (ABC).
In addition to acting, Green is a huge supporter of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, Make a Wish Foundation, ASPCA, and Los Angeles Children’s Hospital. Green also has a general love for old school hip hop and loves to make his own songs, dance and make parodies on YouTube.

Hi Bret, can you tell us a little about you?
I am a creative, free spirited actor enjoying every second of my life.
How did you start in the entertainment business?
I started making YouTube videos in high school as a way to get out of taking exams in my Spanish class (which is probably why my Spanish is no bueno). My friends and I would put together these short films reenacting the defeat of the Spanish Armada or reliving the tale of Don Quixote. That was when I knew I wanted to be a filmmaker/actor.
Who inspired you into acting?
My grandparents played a big role in my interest in the arts. They would take my siblings and I to see local theater at least once a month.
Any other actors in your family?
It is just me in my immediate family. My dad owns an interior design company with his wife and my mom works as an office manager, so I went in quite the opposite direction, which I am perfectly fine with 🙂 I do have a younger cousin in Florida who is starting to book some commercials and I can definitely feel her nipping at my heels.
Tell us about your new role in “The Inspectors”?
I play a really interesting character on the show. His name is Preston Wainwright and he is a paraplegic college freshman who wants nothing more than to walk again and become a United States Postal Inspector. Preston is a whiz kid with a “never say die” attitude and he helps shine a very positive light on the entire physically challenged community.
What the series is about?
The Inspectors follows two storylines: Preston’s mom, Amanda Wainwright, a Postal Inspector who is getting back in the saddle after losing her longtime partner and husband in a car accident that paralyzed Preston, and then we also follow Preston as he navigates his way through his freshman year of college and adjusts to his new life in a wheelchair. Both characters have to overcome quite a bit of adversity and it really is an inspirational story.
Do you support any charities?
I have become very fond of The Reeve Foundation. I think what they are doing to help end paralysis is groundbreaking and truly selfless. I am also a big supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation as well as a number of great charities that are fighting to end homelessness and hunger here in America.
Can you describe a typical day in your life?
For the past five months my days have looked like early call times, 12+ hours on set, and a few hours of sleep before turning around and doing it all over again. However, working on The Inspectors has been one of the greatest experiences of my life and I would not trade it for anything. I have gotten to work with some fantastic people who brighten my day and help me to become a better actor.
What’s the advice you live by?
Follow your dreams. Do what you love. You get one shot at this life and there is absolutely no point in not enjoying every second of it.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Creative. Fun. Caring.
Something people don’t know about you?
A lot of people do not know or maybe do not expect that I am a rapper. I have been doing parody rap since college and I have even had a couple of songs featured on the show!
Five years from now you will be….
Working on feature films and helping young actors break into the business. I have a dream of setting up a group that gives actors who are new to town the much needed advice, tips, and feedback they deserve. Finding a good mentor was hard to come by when I first moved to LA, so I would like to make things a little easier for new arrivals.
Do you have any other hobbies?
I love music. I mostly listen to old school hip hop while I am exercising. I also really enjoy being outdoors, eating healthy and delicious foods, and traveling.
What do you think of the Social Media?
I think it is a necessary evil. I have always enjoyed staying in touch with friends and family on social media, but now it seems like more of a tool for people in the entertainment industry to quantify how many fans you have. There are definitely people who are really good at social media. I am not sure I am one of those people 🙂
