Claire Rasa has shown interest in music since a very young girl. The moment she touched a Guitar it came to life and the strings seemed to play them self as she learnt quickly the enjoyment she got from music as well the enjoyment it brought others. Her talents range from skilful Guitar rifts and Piano play to light and cheerful vocals that seem to draw in the listener from the first note.
The experiences she has are often found in her writing and musical compositions with emotion that is allowed to be felt through her vocals. While most current Pop artists rely on tricky production tracks, Claire finds peace in simple chords that help the listener concentrate on the lyrics to the songs and the point she is trying to get across.

Hi Claire, tell us about you?
Hey there! I am an 18-year old singer/song-writer from Sydney, Australia. I just graduated from high school a couple of months ago, which was exciting and a massive weight-off my shoulders as I was juggling music and doing my final exams.
How did you begin your career?
I’ve always known that I wanted to be a musician. When I was younger I took piano lessons and I also kept a journal. Then when I was about 13 years old, I wrote my first song from the events that I had recorded in my journal. When I was 15 years old, I begged my parents to let me post videos on Youtube, which they did, but the videos didn’t really lead anywhere, so I recorded my songs with garage band and sent them off to record labels here in Sydney. After not hearing a response, I took a break for a while to learn all I could about the music business and to educate myself. After a second time, I found a label called BMAB Records based in L.A on the internet and sent them a demo and a couple of videos of me singing my songs and playing the guitar. After that you can say the rest is history.
Who else in your family sings?
No one from my immediate family sings or is musical. However, my granddad on my Mum’s side was a part of an Australian bush band called the “Bush Wackers” back in the 1950s and my grandpa on my Dad’s side is a tenor singer. My first cousin is also a synth/trip hop musician based in Melbourne.
Who are your musical inspirations?
My biggest inspiration is definitely Taylor Swift. I remember her concert was the first that I had gone to and after seeing her live I knew that what she was doing was what I wanted to do. Other inspirations include Delta Goodrem, Katy Perry, Jesse J, Sia, among many others. I have always admired musicians who write their own material.
Explain your sound in 3 words?
Pop, fun, truthful.
Tell us about the success of “All I Wanted”?
The success of All I Wanted has been absolutely insane and beyond anything I’d ever imagined. It’s been crazy to think that a song I wrote in my bedroom has now gone this far! It’s so exciting and I can’t wait to show people what I have coming up next!
What kind of music do you listen to today?
Everything! It’s quite diverse as my music taste always changes.
Do you play any instruments?
Yes I do, I mainly play the piano and guitar, but I’m always looking for new instruments to learn. Currently I’m trying to expand my repertoire of musical instruments and am currently learning the ukulele, ganjo (six string banjo) and twelve-string guitar.
Who you would love to work with?
So many people! I’m absolutely obsessed with country duo Maddie & Tae so they would be a dream to work with. I’d also love to collaborate with Jack Antonoff as he has worked with some amazing artist’s. It honestly wouldn’t matter who I work with because I’m always up for trying something new. Other people include Jess Glynne, Troye Sivan, Lorde among many, many others. The list is endless.
What is your next goal as a musician?
My next goal is to put an album out, tour and to keep writing. I’d also love to explore other avenues in the industry, such as the production side of things.
Where do you live currently?
Sydney, Australia.
What else can we expect from you in the future?
I have some more music coming out soon, so that should be fun. I’m constantly writing so you never where some of those songs might end up.
Best advice ever given?
“Learn to play what you want to hear”
Any loves, other then music?
I absolutely love drama and acting! It’s such a huge passion of mine outside of music, which I would love to explore further in the future. I also love travel and learning about other cultures as I’m constantly expanding my list of places to visit through following a lot of travel and lifestyle bloggers on Instagram.
How do you see yourself in 5 years?
In five years I would love to be doing music full time as a career.
How important is Social Media for you?
Social media is very important to me as it’s a great way to connect with people in a way that’s instantaneous.
