The most lauded New Years Eve event of 2014 belongs to Diplo and Skrillex. The two most talked about artists in electronic music have pulled in some of 2014’s most exciting names to round out the lineup for their show at Madison Square Gardenin NYC. Support for the event includes A$AP Ferg, Rudimental & Yellow Claw. A$AP Ferg is one of the biggest rappers to come out of New York in the last decade, his Traplord album named one of Rolling Stone’s Top 20 Hip Hop albums of 2013. London based Rudimental is on fire with a streak of chart topping releases including a #1 in the UK with their latest album, Home. Dutch bass trio Yellow Claw recently released the much talked about video for “Techno” featuring Waka Flocka Flame and Diplo, via Diplo’s own Mad Decent label. This New Years Eve celebration will be nothing short of epic and tickets are moving fast.
Diplo and Skrillex will be ringing in the new year in a major way, headlining the most famous arena in the world, MSG. Both will be playing their own sets and then coming together at midnight for a rare and final appearance in 2014 as Jack Ü. Zane Lowe premiered their first single “Take Ü There” on BBC, which features rising pop princess Kiesza and has gained over 1.7 million YouTube plays to date. Diplo is easily one of the most sought after producers who has worked with the top names in music, including the much touted upcoming Madonna album. He made waves this year with his Random White Dude Be Everywhere compilation and will make literal waves with the upcoming Mad Decent Boat Party, off the back of the successful 22 city Mad Decent Block Party touring festival. Skrillex, the 6 time Grammy Award-winning producer, has brought electronic music to the masses in a way never before seen in the US and is now a household name. His latest album, Recess (OWSLA/BigBeat/Atlantic) features Chance The Rapper, Kill The Noise, Passion Pit vocalist Michael Angelakos and more.
