[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”25347″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Who is Dr. Metzler?
I am just a good ole’ boy from the island of Grenada in the West Indies who has done well for himself in America. I have a dry sense of humor — a bit snarky, witty, and I speak my mind. I am humble, passionate and thoroughly love life. I believe in the natural power of healing all that ails us. I am an innovative guy always wondering what’s the next great thing that will improve human life.
What motivates you to get up every day and work as hard as you do?
Every day I get up and work hard because I love what I do. I am motivated by my belief in the human spirit, my passion for life and my hope that we will once again become a united country. We are on earth for a short time and I want to make the most of that time by living up to my full potential.
You have created an intersection between cannabis and politics. Tell us about this trending wave.
All politics are local. Local politicians have found their state and local governments running out of money. Raising taxes is obviously unpopular across generations-led by younger voters and well, cannabis for medical and recreational purposes is a smoking hot political issue. Running for office as a non-cannabis friendly candidate is in many states a non-starter. At the federal level, politicians will take their cue from the states. The cannabis industry has a lot of work to do surrounding education and rebranding to get the facts on cannabis out to be truly seen as the powerful plant that it is.
You own a number of businesses in the healthcare space. What drew to you to that?
This was completely by accident. About 18 years ago, I bought a struggling pharmacy in West Palm Beach, Florida. It was a good deal. It was a good investment. From there, I expanded to Urgent Cares, Wellness Centers, Pharmacies and DNA testing for cannabis. In addition to a good investment, I welcomed the opportunity to bring natural and functional medicine back into the discussion about health and wellness. I am not a proponent of Western Medicine because I believe that too much of it treats symptoms and NOT the cause. The issues of healthcare and not merely health insurance MUST addressed. My companies are helping to do that.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”25346″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]You’re seen on a lot of different red carpets and at prestigious events. What events have stood out from all the rest and why?
The REGARD Magazine party in conjunction with the 2018 ESPY Awards. At too many red carpets, people are scoping around to see who is more important in the room. In many cases, the carpet is just boring. The REGARD carpet was relaxed, the setting was in a fantastic home and there was great conversation among all. Interactive guests always make for a fun party!
As a modern-day Television personality, you delve into a number of topics. How do you keep your knowledge fresh?
I am a proud nerd. I still read hard copies of the major newspapers, coupling the traditional by browsing favored internet sources. Also, my knowledge is fresh because I am a so-called “insider.” I call people who know about the topics directly, I challenge their sources and conduct my own research. My foundational knowledge is a solid baseline and connecting with these sources helps greatly. Conversations are food for my soul.
We heard a rumor you have a Television show (or 3) in the works. What can you dish on this?
Stay tuned, because I can tell you this. There will be a TV and digital show “The Dr. Christopher Metzler Show.” It will be eventually available on every mobile device known to man. The others are still in development mode. I can’t wait to leak this, trust me!
Your next book is called “Divided We Stand: The Search for America’s Soul.” Give us a preview.
America is a great country, but it is also a very divided country. My book traces the source of the division in a non-politically correct way. It also proposes solutions on issues such as The News Media, Immigration, Race, Class Warfare, Corrupt politicians and so much more.
How does a man that travels as often as you do, stay in such great physical and mental shape?
My first rule is that bread is the devil. In fact, I think it’s worse than the Apple that Eve took a bite of. So, I avoid it like the plague. I vow to do morning workouts wherever I am, eat 5 small meals a day, avoid sweets, take filler-free vitamins, avoid too many sweets and reduce alcohol consumption. I also have to stay hydrated, drink a natural tonic and stretch. Taking mental breaks and unplugging is essential. I welcome the occasional shut down, turning distracting devices off and staring into nowhere.
We heard you are quite the “foodie.” What are some of your favorite indulgences?
Oh YES! Steamed lobster, blackened salmon, oxtails, green beans, jerk chicken, tiramisu, Thai food, spicy shrimp… and the list goes on.
The 2018 Mid-term elections are coming up. Since you are an obvious political insider, what is at stake?
At stake is the future of America. If Democrats take control of the house, there will be gridlock. They will spend the next two years with endless hearings, investigations and doing their best to damage the President when he runs again in 2020. Nothing will get accomplished. Republicans will lose the ability to send legislation to the President. Republicans are poised to keep control of the house if we simply ask one question, “Are you better off now than you were two years ago?”
You are quite the fashion forward guy and you are a conservative. How do you reconcile the two?
LOL! I break the mold every time and shatter stereotypes. I have always been conservative and fashionable. Fashion forward is in no way contradictory with being a proud conservative. The beauty of being conservative is that I think for myself and make my own decisions. I must admit that some of my friends do say to me that they would not wear some of the bold, bright colors that I do. But, they respect my right to wear it.
What are some of your favorite looks?
I love tailored looks and custom suits. I’m obsessed with cropped pants, torn washed jeans, rocking no socks and shirts that I can roll up the sleeves. I like blazers that are not too heavy and can be worn with jeans and body hugging tees. I am a big fan of shoes — captoe boots, slip ons (I hate laces btw) and funky sneakers. Slim-fitted jeans paired with a bomber jacket is one of my favorite looks. I try to always wear a suit with a colorful tie and nothing but a fitted shirts. Occasionally, I wear a pocket square or a vest to mix things up.
Do you use a stylist or do you dress yourself?
It’s all me baby! I know my body type and I know what feels comfortable, so I am my best stylist. I do love to shop and experiment with new looks spotted during NYFW:)
What don’t we know about you?
Other than my excitement to reclaim the TV and digital space with the most amazing, unfiltered content, I am a devout man of God. My heart serves at All Saint’s Soup Kitchen in Fort Lauderdale, FL where my family and I help Father Bob Caudill provide meals, clothing and assistance to the homeless.
